PLOT #3
Yeah, it’s a zombie plot. Overnight between All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day / Day of the Dead, the dead from around Los Indios will begin to rise. They’ll be the shambling type - the effects of rigor mortis, decay and missing bits and pieces will slow them down, but certainly won’t stop them. There are lots of small gravesites to the west of town, as well as one nearby the church. Los Indios has also seen war and, being a border town, other disputes, so expect some unmarked sites as well. The zombies will be drawn towards the carnival, but they’re not going to bypass townsfolk if they’re in the town. So if your character has a bit of a hero complex, they’re welcome to go zombie killing in Los Indios as well. Any zombies not proper dead after a week will find themselves that way again. They’ll rise in stages, not all at once. So characters are welcome to celebrate after they’ve dealt with the first lot.. only to find more turning up the next day. ★ Start Date: Friday November 1st/Saturday November 2nd ★ End Date: Friday November 8th/Saturday November 9th |
What are the zombies like? They’re the shambling kind of zombie, as mentioned above, the effects rigor mortis, decay and missing bits and pieces have had on them will slow them down. They still very much want to attack you though. Why? Well, they’re not too sure. It might have something to do with your affiliation with the carnival, but then they’re attacking others along the way as well, so maybe they didn’t get that far.. How can they be killed? Removing/significantly damaging the head seems to do the trick. How many waves will there be? There will be one every day of the week and they’ll get larger as the week progresses. They tend to rise slowly overnight and should be shambling around from early morning. In addition to the carnival folk inclined to go zombie hunting, some people from the town will fight as well as the law. Won’t the townsfolk run them out for ‘summoning’ the undead or showing off some powers they maybe shouldn’t have? They’ll probably be too occupied with the zombies themselves and hopefully enough of them are thankful for the carnival folk effectively killing the things. Once it’s definitely over, they will be packing up and leaving though. Won’t this cause problems for the carnival in the future? It might, though most people elsewhere probably won’t really believe that people rose from the dead and were taken down by magical carnival workers. After the shock of it all, some of the townsfolk might not even believe it themselves. It’s easier not to, right? What happens if my character gets scratched/bitten/etc.? Nothing. But they don’t know that! Feel free to have your character freak out or have others freak out and call for their execution (hopefully enough people will disagree though..) and all that other torturous fun. I was wondering.. Questions are appreciated - ask them in the comments. :) |
