Nate shifted in his spot atop his and Kara's trailer. He'd been exploring the camp a bit more since coming to the understanding that he was not going anywhere except where the circus wanted him. He'd met some people, but mostly kept to himself, sketching acts, visitors, vehicles, and the various structures in the camp. But the one thing he had yet to do, because of the lack of taller, climbable structures, was sketch the layout. He wanted to have something to keep track of where everything was (not that he'd forget, with a memory like his), just so he'd have it documented in his journal.

The sun felt good on his neck and shoulders. It wasn't too hot, but a bit breezy with a warm sun. He bent over his journal, leaving it in shadow as he worked. He glanced up occasionally to reorient himself, but it only took a second. The whole thing felt familiar. He'd been missing home, missing Sully and Elena, but sketching always brought him back, made him feel like he was just on another adventure. He sighed, catching his lip between his teeth and worrying it as he worked.

It wasn't the same, but it was calming to get back to one of the things he did best. For now he could pretend as he listened the the people moving about below him.

Nate was just starting his sketch of the main tent when he heard the male voice call out. He glanced down at him. "Uh... me?" He looked around, making sure he was the one being addressed, before looking back at the fairly tall guy staring up at him. You never knew in this place. People called out to each other all the time. "Hey."

Nate hadn't really gotten a chance to talk to any of the men in the camp. He'd spent most of his time bothering Kara while teaching her how to play poker and visiting Diana when he got the chance. He didn't have good luck with other men. They either double-crossed him, or... well... tried to kill him. Ah, the treasure hunting life.

Nate stuck his pencil in his journal and shut it with a snap. He could get back to sketching later. He wanted to know what this guy wanted. Was it frowned upon to sit on top of things? was he blocking the tall guy's view? Did he go around contemplating the mysteries of the universe? Whatever it was, Nate was curious. "There something I can do for you? "

(I am so sorry this took so long!)

Ned shielded his eyes with his hand as he looked up at the other man who was peering down at him to confirm that it had actually been himself that Ned was addressing. It was a nice, mostly bright morning. The idea of occupying the roof of a trailer and surveying the lot, while not one Ned would have had himself, at least not here and not yet, was a nice one. He smiled up at the man before responding.

"Yes, uh. Hi. Look, I'm sorry to disturb your ..surveying." Ned wasn't actually sure what the man had been doing up there. He could have been writing or reading or otherwise not taking in the view at all. But Ned hoped he'd at least had a look around or he would be disturbing him right now for nothing.

"I was just wondering if you'd seen a washtub from up there?" The piemaker gestured with the pile of clothes under his left arm. He realised it wasn't exactly an important thing to be interrupting someone for, but he was ready with more apologies would they be deemed necessary.
