Who: Oliver Queen and Open. Allison Argent
What: Oliver trying to figure things out. Much confusion. And angst.
Where: Outside his new digs.
When: Shortly after his arrival.
Rating: TBD.
Status: Incomplete/Ongoing.

1935.

He was in 1935.

And he couldn't help but believe because seconds before arriving he'd been in 2011, and was about to meet his maker thanks to an army of Kandorian super-soldiers that had him in their sights. He hadn't been afraid. He'd been fighting the battle for earth for so long and all of his reasons for fighting were gone anyway. He'd been ready for it to end.

And then he was here. And the sun was no longer red, but its usual yellow, and he was standing there silently, alone, staring up at it like he'd never seen it before. It had been so long since he'd seen anything other than a red sun, he'd almost forgotten what the actual sun looked like.

He'd barely heard Carl's spiel about glad to see him, welcome to the carnival, and get to work. He'd simply stared at the man until Carl had finally handed him some clothes and walked away. Oliver hadn't even spoken. He wasn't sure he could speak.

"Could be a lucky shot," Allison said with a impressed look on her face, she looked back at Lydia and mouthed wow. To be honest, she wasn't that master to pick a leaf out and tag it like that "One second," she moved beside the trailer, then pulled out a wooden plank, one of the ones she would have to stand in front of when he did his act.

She paused for moment, then looked at Lydia, "grab that thing for a pillow off a bed in the trailer, please." Allison flipped the board over, "I'm going to mark spots on the board with a rock, I need you to hit the marks. If you hit the pillow, it's yours and I get the whole one." Swiping up a rock she dug some marks in the back of the board. She felt bad for doing this with him, but she needed to know she would be safe. "Any questions?" she asked as she kept digging at the board.

Lydia had to admit that Oliver was way more accurate than she would have thought he'd be. It was a pretty good shot. And Allison probably couldn't even do the leaf thing. Lydia hadn't ever seen anything like that, except maybe in a movie or something. She stared in disbelief for a few seconds. But like Allison said, it could have just been a lucky shot. They needed more proof. Lydia needed to know that Allison wouldn't be in any danger from this guy.

She nodded, slipping inside the trailer to grab a pillow. "I can't believe you get a trailer and I have to sleep in a freaking tent." Lydia said, as she re-emerged from inside. This time and place was doing nothing for her hair. She was used to being a lot more primped than this. Now she felt dirty all the time. That wasn't really the issue right now, though. She looked at what Allison was doing. It was a good test. Hopefully Oliver was up to it.

"I hope you don't hit that pillow." She mused. "Probably wouldn't be as comfortable with holes in it."

A lucky shot? Really? He frowned, sighing softly as he watched the two of them scramble to get things and threaten his pillow. Good thing for him he had no intention of hitting it. "I think I've got it," he said wryly. Really, he understood their concern. He wouldn't want to just stand in front of someone shooting arrows right at him unless he was damn sure they were a good shot.

He glanced at Lydia sideways. "Don't worry. I won't hit it," he said with confidence. If there was one thing he had utter faith in himself over, it was his ability to hit a target with any bow and arrow he was given. It had been, after all, what had kept him alive on that island so many years ago. Archery had saved him in more ways than one, really.

"Let's get this over with then" she took the pillow from Lydia, smiling at her for the housing arrangement remark, Allison did luck out a bit in that department. "Shoot the corner" she held it up,"then aim for the marks on the board without hitting it."

It was a simple task and the first one will put her in the way of the arrow, but she wasn't scared.

Lydia knew they were probably driving Oliver kind of nuts right now, but they couldn't help it. Lydia needed to know that Allison would be okay. It had to be a guarantee. And so they needed to see what Oliver could do before they put on their little show. It was much safer this way. Lydia felt a little bad that they were bombarding Oliver with this when he'd just gotten here, but Allison's safety was very important. And if Oliver didn't hit the pillow, they'd probably have nothing to worry about.

Lydia was ready to watch this. And she thought Oliver would pass. He'd pinned a leaf to a tree. It wasn't just luck, she didn't feel that way. She had to be sure, though. They had to know that he was going to hit the targets and not the pillow, and therefore not Allison.
