Once and Again
Who: Sofia OT Ben
Where: Angeles National Forest
When: Friday morning (September 25)
Warmth. She stretched out, her long legs singing in relief as she moved, the warmth pouring over her body. Overhead, sunlight broke through the tops of the trees as it began to rise above the horizon. Golden beams caught the sparkling, dancing particles of dust in the air and made them glow like hundreds, thousands of tiny faeries in the mystical quiet of the brush. She breathed in and her senses were overcome by a host of familiar scents and sounds. The soft blanket of grass rustled beneath her as she moved. There was an earthy freshness that came with dawn, when everything was covered with dew and time started anew.
A soft moan escaped her lips as she sat up and ran her fingers through her long, dark hair. Bits of grass and leaves shook free, but she was unperturbed. She'd take a shower soon enough. For now, she was content to watch the play of light as it filtered down to cast hypnotizing patterns of shadow and illumination over her legs, her skin the color of pale caramel. She was an exotic looking girl, all dark and tawny, save for her crystalline blue eyes that were both arresting and, at times, not entirely human. She could have sat there for hours as the sun climbed higher and higher into the sky, until she was bathed in its heat, but such tendencies had, at times, led to accusations of self-indulgence.
Standing up somewhat reluctantly, she brushed the dirt from her hip and the curve of her backside. Nude as she was, she could hardly have been mistaken for some woodland nymph by any early-rising innocent bystander. She was too tall, for one, standing 5'9" in her bare feet, and did not possess the lithe, ethereally slight build of such mythic creatures. She was visibly sturdy, of delicate bone structure but toned physique, and carried the voluptuous sort of curves known to lure mere mortal men into the potential danger of her embrace.
Rolling her shoulders back, she raised her arms over her head and stretched more fully. It didn't take her too long to get her bearings. Roughly ten yards off was the spot where she'd stashed her clothes before the shift. She loved to run wild – missed the days when she'd done so with the others of her kind. That was why, when she'd crossed paths with –
A faint smile crossed her lips as she turned and crouched down next to the strong, athletic body of the male she'd crossed in the darkest hours of the morning. Physically, there was an odd sort of recognition, as if she knew him but wouldn't have been able to place him immediately. Ten years had a way of changing a person. She didn't have to look at him to know him, however. His scent, perhaps that which science would have called pheromones, was quite distinct to her.
"Well. Some things never change."
