So.

Basically I am seriously overwhelmed with the amount of stuff that has to be sorted out. This is no one's fault but my own AND I have to say that everyone volunteering is making my life 1000 times easier, so I have no complaints in that department.

However, I would like to know if it might be a good idea all around to pause BL for a few days (maybe till, say, Friday), so that things can get straightened, people can start school, you can go on a date, get started in other games, whatever. But I'm not going to do so without a sound majority. Please don't vote with multiple journals!

Would you object to BL 'pausing' for a few days so things can get straightened out?

Yes, please don't. I will die of withdrawal.

And I'm adding to this (because I just saw your response above) that maybe if you made an OOC bar on creating major plottish things, that could work...like, people could still use this time for the smaller, individual plots (and yes, I am partly saying this relating to Aeneas/Claudette reunions of this week), but anything majorly major or game-changing (and I don't mean "game-changing for an individual person," but rather "game-changing for the entire game") should be postponed until you've got your bearings, if that makes sense.

I guess it's just hard for me to be like... "okay Order, don't try and figure out what's going on this week ... and media, pretend like being gagged for this long is okay... oh and death eaters, just twiddle your thumbs while we figure out the new hierarchy for the ministry" -- and things to just putter along like that. Does that make sense? I don't know how to tell people not to plot without stifling peoples' abilities to react to things.

*nods* I definitely understand, because I think a part of the appeal of this game and why it works so well and is so active so often is that things are allowed to progress organically like that...it's whoever's law of "every action has an equal and opposite reaction" or something along those lines. I kind of liked Kei's suggestion above, about "things are happening in the background that you don't see," like people are stewing and plotting and stuff but don't necessarily inform the world of their plot stew (which actually sounds really good, I need breakfast) and that sort of thing? I don't know, it's tough. :\

Well, they can still try and figure things out.... though there really isn't much they can figure out yet. The Death Eaters have made one big move but then nothing. They don't know what's happening with the Ministry, the problems getting access to the DEs still stand etc etc.

We could have the older heads in the Order (ie. Alice, Frank, Abe, Caradoc) post saying something along the lines of "Alright people, now calm down, take some deep breaths and stop for a moment. No one is to do anything without thinking, now moreso than ever. There is no longer a DMLE that will be even the remotest kind of help. We get into trouble there will be no one other than ourselves who will care or help. So no rash moves, no kneejerk reactions, nothing until we figure out what's going on."

That's pretty much what Abe was going to say to Minerva after all. Then they can start saying things like - "If you need help with wards and shit, speak to Frank/Alice/Caradoc. If you need help with sneaky stuff or money, speak to Abe. If you have any worries, pick any of them and speak to them. Frank and Alice are Aurors, Caradoc's experienced and Abe's been through wars before. We're all willing to give advice and help however we can."

It's going to take time for everyone to settle down and sort things out on the Order and ex-Ministry side of things and the DEs won't make major moves until Voldie says so (Bella and Dolph will kill them and no one wants that!)

Basicaly it's going to be very internal on both sides at the moment. There'll be a little talk between ex-Ministry and Order but that's about it really.

Aaaaand I'll stop rambling now.

Though as I said in chat last night, I'm willing to go with the flow.

And I know I don't have access to AIM a lot of the time but I do have access to gmail and gdocs and I do have time at work (don't ask about why, it's a loooooong story) so if you want to throw anything at me in terms of grunt work, I'd be more than happy to get that done for you.
