Basically I am seriously overwhelmed with the amount of stuff that has to be sorted out. This is no one's fault but my own AND I have to say that everyone volunteering is making my life 1000 times easier, so I have no complaints in that department.

However, I would like to know if it might be a good idea all around to pause BL for a few days (maybe till, say, Friday), so that things can get straightened, people can start school, you can go on a date, get started in other games, whatever. But I'm not going to do so without a sound majority. Please don't vote with multiple journals!

Alright, I have taken everyone's comments into consideration, as well as the vote (currently 73% of the game has voted with a 90% not-anti-pause amount; I feel safe reaching a conclusion on these votes since even if EVERYONE who hasn't voted votes against the pause -- which I don't think they all would -- we'd still have a 2/3 majority for it), and I have decided that we will have a week-long pause beginning TODAY AT 6PM PST.

Before you panic or start to ask questions, please read everything written below first.

1) The nature of the 'pause'

The idea is that the week between 6pm Monday the 5th and 6pm Monday the 12th simply does not exist. When we resume after the pause, only three days will have passed since the ministry takeover. The missing week will be completely unacknowledged -- because it literally does not exist. This is not 'background time passing' -- the week simply doesn't exist. I'm making it a week so there is some continuity in days of the week, and also because I think it will give people a chance to really thoroughly figure shit out. The date will be the date. It will roll over from Monday (the 5th) to Tuesday (the 13th).

2) But wtf will I do without BL?

BL is not going to be dead for the week. You SHOULD be commenting and logging and planning things. During this time period you are free to comment on any journal entries already posted on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday, and you are free to post logs that take place on those three days. Any journal entries that go up this week can only be from Monday.

For example, using Rufus, I can go back and comment on the jillions of posts from the DMLE, I can plan with the guerilla team, I can do logs of what Rufus did immediately after the attack, or maybe on Friday night at the meet-up, or on Saturday morning during the second meeting. I can do a post on "Monday" that organises the troops and takes a headcount. I will have PLENTY to do and most people should as well.

3) But what about my character's birthday, social plot, bris...?

Birthdays -- owls or logs may be posted during the week, though no acknowledgement of the date should be made. No journal entries unless the birthday happened on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday.

The full moon -- the full moon WILL take place during the dead week, though werewolves must not do anything that would warrant huge IC backlash (no killing PCs, no huge murdering sprees in wizarding towns, etc), since people cannot respond to it via journal. Basically, keep this moon on the down low.

Social plot -- should be postponed unless it could plausibly take place in the immediate aftermath of the ministry takeover. I know for a few of you this is a pain in the ass, but I think trying to socially plot with absolutely no idea what the freak is going on in the main flow of the game would be a pain as well, and that having plot take place during a week that doesn't actually exist would be really confusing. We want to maintain as much of the "oh God" aftermath feel throughout the week. Feel free to log in gdocs and then post them after we resume, however.

4) Can things be backdated to the middle of the week when we unpause?

No -- that would imply the week was there and we fastforwarded. We did not, the week literally does not exist

5) What about pregnancies?

For the sake of your due dates, all pregnancies will remain normal. So at 6 o'clock next Monday, Lily, Astra, Meaghan, whoever, will be a week further along, even though that week did not actually happen.

6) What about the activity check that was supposed to be this week?

I will wait to post it until we are unpaused.

7) Holy shit, this is confusing

I know. Just try to think of it as a week that doesn't exist, with a few exceptions (like birthdays and pregnancies) so that people aren't sad :[
