Andrew and Kaylee and Open
Evening
The Tavern--finally with someone he actually knows
Things with Kaylee were awkward at best most times. She was his little sister, the only family he really had left, though he was an anklet away from changing that, perhaps. She knew very well why she wasn't a big part of his life anymore, but Andrew was still willing to keep her in it. Now that just meant an occasional dinner out or catching a movie after work. Sharing a plate of nachos seemed a poor substitute for the closeness they had once enjoyed, but he had made his choice as a result of her making hers. For now, both stood by them, but only one had the option to bend and it wasn't Andrew.
"So how's the agent thing going? Seems more for you than it was for me. I guess maybe when I was your age though." Even that wasn't really true though. Andrew liked his excitement in a controlled form. He had been impressionable enough when he was young to go for any crazy thing Sadie dreamed up, and if she had lived it might have been different. If he hadn't met Mel, who made that quiet calm possible during all those moments in Cazenovia when he might have given up on it. Kaylee blamed what she was, but most of that comfort had come by way of phone call, and from all Andrew could tell, that undeniable aura of hers didn't work that way.
He leaned over the hightop table now, rattling the ice at the bottom of his glass while he awaited a refill. "Audric's being professional?"
