Lux was again prepared for the celebration of Samhain, a time when the yield of the harvest was celebrated, the preparations for winter were completed, and when the veils between the world of the living and the world of the departed spirits was said to be thinnest. Celebration of the 24 hours, from sundown on 31st October to sundown on 1st November, would happen, as usual, with food, drink and entertainment for all who chose to partake.

Samhain, All Hallow's Eve, All Saints Eve, Hallowe'en - all celebrated at the same time. Each individual who arrived would find their entrance to Lux as it usually presented, a long corridor appearing as if hewn in rock, weaving through diaphanous veils that prevented one from seeing the beginning from the end, and vice versa. After passing through the corridor an entrance foyer opens, mirrors reflecting unseen lights, and the new arrival's image. Music can be heard, the welcoming sound encouraging the participants to join others inside the main chamber. This chamber was equipped on this evening with two bar areas, and a stage, an array of musical equipment and assorted instruments visible to the discerning eye. Standing tables with stools, clusters of comfortable lounges, staff with platters of food and drink were all contributing to the atmosphere of celebration.

Small chambers branched off the large open area, a variety of spaces suitable for a variety of purposes, seating for dining, areas for talking, or privacy for those seeking seclusion for more intimate liaisons. The sorceress responsible moved from one chamber to the next, her perusal concluding when the last rays of sunlight started to fade from the evening sky outside.

"Let the celebrations begin!"

Within minutes the sounds of celebration had commenced, guests arriving and greeting the hostess, some having attended the celebrations for as long as they had been held, others arriving for their first experience. Each was greeted, welcomed, and encouraged to enjoy the party.
