Beltane Celebrations
The entrance to Lux was uncommonly different to its normal nondescript self. Instead of blending into the surroundings it was bedecked with greenery, the flush of new growth that had lost the pale brilliance of first flush and was instead reaching the fullness of spring's flight, strengthened by the fire of the approaching summer's sun. And inside there were chalices that carried fire, a cleansing welcoming flame that lit the beginning of the passageway.
The passageway as usual had the guests weave their way between opaque veils, one end not visible from the other, the veils guiding them along the length until they stepped, finally, into the main chamber. Again, if one had visited Lux previously, other than for Beltane, one would not recognise the place they were now. Instead of walls there appeared to be trunks of large trees, and stones, standing tall, reaching high up into what appeared to be a night sky. For the ceiling appeared to be akin to the darkness of a night sky splashed with a myriad of stars and constellations, life afar that was twinkling enticingly.
If one chose to explore one would eventually find themselves turning a corner that brought them back to the main chamber, albeit on another side from that which they'd departed. On this journey they may have come across smaller chambers, secluded areas for those who sought some privacy from the main celebrations. And there was little chance of being disturbed in this chambers, if a couple was feeling the desire to celebrate the spirit of Beltane, of regeneration, new life and beginnings.
The main chamber itself resembled a grove, a natural circle of space that was surrounded by the standing stones, and a large fire at the centre. Two serveries could be seen, and approached by the guests, or participants as Angharad thought of all who joined. Platters of food, celebrating the harvest, urns of alcohol poured by members of her family, were freely available, and all were encouraged to partake.
The sorceress was indeed enjoying the celebrations, some of her family having joined her this semi-solstice, having responded to her message which requested their consult.
