Summary: Ari is playing with her wand
Status: Open, ongoing
After she'd gotten her wand, the lessons had intensified. Now, she couldn't stop in to visit one of the professors without an offer of being shown something new. Sometimes she declined, and sometimes she accepted - it depended on which professor was asking, and what sort of mood she was in. If she was already edgy or if she thought she couldn't stay stable, she declined the impromptu lessons.
Still, there were other things to learn.
She was learning about runes from Professor Dorny, and about numbers from Professor Entwhistle, and about plants from Professor Longbottom.
She was also learning that she was being tricked into learning. It would never start off like a lesson, but the next thing she knew, she was asking questions and needing elaboration, and she was being taught. It was a very informal and slipshod way of doing it, but it worked well enough for her. It definitely gave her ideas of what she wanted to study, once she was able to.
At the moment though, she was down at the edge of the forest, stirring up leaves with a levitation spell. Her magic was strong, and she was still learning how to temper it. Forceful bursts and firm motions of her wand often resulted in an exaggerated effect, so she needed to draw in her focus and not just 'blurt out' her magic, such as it was.
She heard a twig snap and let the spell fade as she lifted her eyes toward the edge of the forest. Sometimes she saw unicorns, but ... apparently, not just now. Still, she watched the forest a bit longer just in case before turning her eyes back to the scattered leaves.
Working her magic, Ariana began to direct the leaves together into a pile. She knew she'd have to go in soon, before her brother worried about her ... but she had a few more minutes at least before full dusk settled.
