Bombs are located: train platform, Honeydukes, to the left and right of the joke shop, and a surprise extra bomb at Madam Puddifoot's

The children had been released from the castle just after ten AM to spread through the village, to populate the shops and fill the streets. Some had remained at the school for whatever reason, and they would later be glad that they had ...

As the seconds ticked by, disaster crept slowly closer.

Just before the first bomb went off, there was the pop of someone apparating into an alley, startling a third year who promptly turned and fled. The stunning spell kept them from getting very far as Bellatrix stepped out of the alley. Around her, there were other pops as the Death Eaters and Fenrir's pack joined her at various points throughout the village.

At eleven thirty, the first bomb went off, followed quickly by at least four more blasts. Even as the last one was still echoing, the Death Eaters and the wolves began to move, converging on the mass of children. They knew someone was likely to alert the Aurors so they had to move quickly and get out before they were really ready to ... but it would be fun while it lasted.

There was something remarkably pleasant about being resistant to spells. Sterling's eyes gleamed with a wicked light as he pursued a pack of small children - small to him, at any rate - around a corner, herding them toward a place he knew dead-ended.

The area between his shoulder blades stung a little from some spell or another, but whatever it had been wasn't enough to slow him down enough. Once he had the pups cornered, he leered at them as he approached them. One of them got a little ballsy and pulled a wand, his hand shaking violently as he tried to work some beginner magic on the werewolf.

Sterling laughed, pale eyes focusing on the prey as he tried to decide which ones to play with first. The odds were good that one would slip away, simply because there was a small handful of them, but unless someone showed up to rain on his parade, he should be able to make a point with a couple of the pups.

He wasn't a Gryffindor. When the sounds of bombs started going off, he'd booked it for the nearest exit, encouraging the people around him to move and go with him, because hey, that was heroic right?

But then he started catching glimpses of things that were all too familiar, and gave him chills all the way up and down his spine. Masks, and cloaks, and faces that for him he'd been wearing as recently as a few months ago.

Death Eaters. There was something going on, and these students would be completely unprepared for it. They'd all be slaughtered.

He still wasn't sure, exactly, why that knowledge had caused him to turn back and run into the chaos instead of away from it. But he could analyze that later.

He had no idea where to start. People were battling and falling all around him, but the sounds of screams brought him to a somwhat secluded alley where one wizard had trapped a bunch of children. Not thinking much of it, and rather hoping that he could be enough to at least distract one adult wizard, he raced forward toward the kids.

"Find the wall and follow it out!" he bellowed at them, before muttering a spell that caused dark, thick smoke clouds to escape from his wand. He coughed and spluttered a bit as they swarmed around him, mucking up everyone's vision, but if the kids could find a wall they could follow it out of there. He crashed into one himself, scooting along it as fast as he could to try and catch up to the kids to herd them out, hoping to have disoriented the Death Eater that had trapped them in here.

Sterling had heard footsteps, but he heard footsteps everywhere. He thought it was someone fleeing past him, taking a 'shortcut' and he thought to drag him into the fun too - until there was smoke everywhere, and tinier footsteps attempting to escape.

Bellowing, Sterling lunged forward, closing his eyes and relying on his ears as he attempted to scoop up the children. Fingers grazed the fabric of a robe, and he smirked as he yanked the beast backward. A shrill scream, distinctly feminine, echoed through the enclosed space.

"Trying to play hero? You lost a sheep, shepherd," he taunted the would-be savior of the pups. Was one enough to lure him back? He opened his eyes into slits before he freed his wand, sending blasts of air to clear away the smoke. Was the hero hanging about, or would Sterling have to gather another set of playtoys?
