Bombs are located: train platform, Honeydukes, to the left and right of the joke shop, and a surprise extra bomb at Madam Puddifoot's

The children had been released from the castle just after ten AM to spread through the village, to populate the shops and fill the streets. Some had remained at the school for whatever reason, and they would later be glad that they had ...

As the seconds ticked by, disaster crept slowly closer.

Just before the first bomb went off, there was the pop of someone apparating into an alley, startling a third year who promptly turned and fled. The stunning spell kept them from getting very far as Bellatrix stepped out of the alley. Around her, there were other pops as the Death Eaters and Fenrir's pack joined her at various points throughout the village.

At eleven thirty, the first bomb went off, followed quickly by at least four more blasts. Even as the last one was still echoing, the Death Eaters and the wolves began to move, converging on the mass of children. They knew someone was likely to alert the Aurors so they had to move quickly and get out before they were really ready to ... but it would be fun while it lasted.

There were some things that were just instinct. James had been happily chatting away with his mates about something or other when a nasty explosion relatively close had nearly blown his ear drums out. He had ducked and covered instantly, wand in his hand before he even realized what he was doing. He thought he noted Peter transforming quickly and scurrying out of the way and when the second and third... were those bombs went off, James thought that was a bloody good idea.

There were loud popping sounds and... was that growling? Spells were going off in every direction, and James didn't have a clue what was going on, but he found himself running towards the danger, expecting Sirius was hot on his heels.

Death Eaters. He had no proof but he was still sure of it, and though the Aurors wouldn't be too far behind, they'd be far enough that the Death Eaters could cause some serious damage in the meantime. He was a skilled wizard. At the very least, he could give them something to shoot at.

Landon and Rose had - thankfully - been a distance away from the blasts. He'd heard them, and something dull but heavy had clubbed the small of his back hard enough to send him staggering but not knock him down. He'd parted his lips to ask what was going on when the rest of the town had been shaken by another three? Four? blasts.

He'd reached out for Rose's hand and started off toward the path back to school, though his head whipped around as he saw James running ... toward the village? "Oi, Potter!" he called as he tightened his grip on Rose's hand. "School's the other way, yeah?"

Sirius crouched and covered his ears at the blasts, but he didn't even have a chance to be properly disoriented before James was sprinting off. It didn't take Sirius long to follow in hot pursuit, his thoughts flashing along the same lines as James'.

This was the sort of stuff they dreaded in their time. It wasn't supposed to happen here. This was supposed to be relatively safer. But so much for that, yeah?

Hearing Landon, Sirius turned just long enough to growl a message back to the other boy. "Get anyone you can back to school!"

That said, Sirius turned back after James, ready to back his best mate up in any duel they got into.

Sirius twirled his wand once as his mind landed on an appropriate spell to start off with. As soon as someone matching the description of sadistic, dark, and Death Eater-like entered Sirius' field of vision he would bring his wand slashing down to send a blast of angry purple magic toward the offending person.

Fell had been about to settle down to brunch when the message came through that all available Aurors were to report immediately to Hogsmeade. There were no details yet but be prepared.

Ensuring she had her wand on her, Fell snatched up her backup wand before pulling on her Auror robes and popping herself out to Hogsmeade. She landed in a cloud of smoke, and choked on it before staggering out of it. Dark eyes swept to the side and she gasped as she realized she was looking at a hole in a building that looked none to stable just then. "Holy shit," she swore as she swung her attention to the rest of the village.

She had no idea where to start. Chaos reigned. There were people running, most of them students, most of them fleeing toward the castle, and Fell lunged into the fray. She'd figure it out once she had a better idea of what, exactly, she was looking at.

Reflexively she lifted a shield around herself to warn her of anything coming at her from the sides or behind as she focused her eyes forward, sweeping her gaze around when she could afford it.

She caught sight of something silvery, and she froze, jaw gaping. Not even. But whoever it was behind that mask - the sort of mask she'd only ever seen in history books - was lifting their wand. Fell shot a disarming spell toward them, but she wasn't the only one with a shield apparently, and she barely dodged the return attack in time. Scooting behind a sign post, she shot a spell around it, pleased to see the bastard (or bitch) get tangled up. She disarmed them then and hoped the spell held to keep them detained as she darted off to see who was next in line.

He was shooting spells left and right, giggling like the maniac that he was an on occasion even making big BOOM noises as he sent off another fiery spell. He could definitely see the draw of muggle firearm things and why Avery liked them so much.

There was a maniacal gleam in his eye, and he saw another person hiding behind a sign, firing spell at someone in a mask. He had one on too, of course - it had been damaged at the bottom now, there was a piece dangling off it, but he didn't really care all that much. This was the sort of fun that he'd been missing.

Firing a spell at the girl hiding behind the sign, he shouted BOOM again, wondering if it would be more likely to make the sign or the girl explode, and finding that he didn't honestly care one way or the other right now.

It honestly didn't cross his mind that he was in any danger. This was way too much fun to be dangerous to him.

"Shit," Fell swore as she dodged backward. How the fuck many of them were there out here? Two masked once where she could see, and there were sounds everywhere. Fighting, screaming, crying. There was smoke and rubble and people in fucking masks.

Death Eaters. Still around, or returned. Had the whole fucking army of them returned?

Gritting her teeth, she advanced on the Death Eater that wasn't currently tangled up in a mess of black vines. She did attempt to disarm him, but barring that, she went in for the heavier spells.

The ones meant to hurt, to bind, and if necessary, to kill.

Slashing her wand down, she uttered the words for a spell to send vines toward the one still standing with the intent to tangle him as well and drop him beside his partner.

There was something remarkably pleasant about being resistant to spells. Sterling's eyes gleamed with a wicked light as he pursued a pack of small children - small to him, at any rate - around a corner, herding them toward a place he knew dead-ended.

The area between his shoulder blades stung a little from some spell or another, but whatever it had been wasn't enough to slow him down enough. Once he had the pups cornered, he leered at them as he approached them. One of them got a little ballsy and pulled a wand, his hand shaking violently as he tried to work some beginner magic on the werewolf.

Sterling laughed, pale eyes focusing on the prey as he tried to decide which ones to play with first. The odds were good that one would slip away, simply because there was a small handful of them, but unless someone showed up to rain on his parade, he should be able to make a point with a couple of the pups.

He wasn't a Gryffindor. When the sounds of bombs started going off, he'd booked it for the nearest exit, encouraging the people around him to move and go with him, because hey, that was heroic right?

But then he started catching glimpses of things that were all too familiar, and gave him chills all the way up and down his spine. Masks, and cloaks, and faces that for him he'd been wearing as recently as a few months ago.

Death Eaters. There was something going on, and these students would be completely unprepared for it. They'd all be slaughtered.

He still wasn't sure, exactly, why that knowledge had caused him to turn back and run into the chaos instead of away from it. But he could analyze that later.

He had no idea where to start. People were battling and falling all around him, but the sounds of screams brought him to a somwhat secluded alley where one wizard had trapped a bunch of children. Not thinking much of it, and rather hoping that he could be enough to at least distract one adult wizard, he raced forward toward the kids.

"Find the wall and follow it out!" he bellowed at them, before muttering a spell that caused dark, thick smoke clouds to escape from his wand. He coughed and spluttered a bit as they swarmed around him, mucking up everyone's vision, but if the kids could find a wall they could follow it out of there. He crashed into one himself, scooting along it as fast as he could to try and catch up to the kids to herd them out, hoping to have disoriented the Death Eater that had trapped them in here.

Sterling had heard footsteps, but he heard footsteps everywhere. He thought it was someone fleeing past him, taking a 'shortcut' and he thought to drag him into the fun too - until there was smoke everywhere, and tinier footsteps attempting to escape.

Bellowing, Sterling lunged forward, closing his eyes and relying on his ears as he attempted to scoop up the children. Fingers grazed the fabric of a robe, and he smirked as he yanked the beast backward. A shrill scream, distinctly feminine, echoed through the enclosed space.

"Trying to play hero? You lost a sheep, shepherd," he taunted the would-be savior of the pups. Was one enough to lure him back? He opened his eyes into slits before he freed his wand, sending blasts of air to clear away the smoke. Was the hero hanging about, or would Sterling have to gather another set of playtoys?

Ron's day had started off fairly unpleasantly with a great deal of paperwork to take care of, paperwork he'd been slacking on all week and had intended to continue slacking on all morning, and to be honest, when the call came in that all available Aurors were to report he'd had a moment of intense relief followed by intense horror as his brain caught up to him and connected the dots.

Hogsmade. This... this was a bad weekend for there to be an attack on Hogsmade.

There was really nothing that could have kept him from getting there fast enough, wand at the ready. He tried to get a feel for what the hell had happened, but in the two seconds that he took to survey the scene and try to piece together what the falling down building and screaming children could mean, he nearly was hit with some sort of spell. He quickly ducked and rolled, firing back as well as he could, and really wishing that they'd all thought to wear neon coloured clothing. Black robes seemed to be everywhere at the moment, and he couldn't quite piece together what was going on.

Aiming for people he saw with masks, he did his best to try and keep on guard and take out as many of them as possible. There were kids around here, maybe his kids and maybe Harry's kids, and they needed to keep the damage contained.

He couldn't help the thought that crossed his mind that this would be the attack that launched the war again, and the fear that clutched at his heart at the thought of it.

Bella was playing a very dangerous, very tiring game - but it was a fair trade. She'd get to bounce around, and when the time came to leave, she could say she'd been completely in the thick of things.

She'd long since lost track of both Rodolphus and Beckett, but they knew the procedure. They'd go home when the signal went up. Bella intended to wait as long as she could for that moment. To drag this out as long as possible. There were already a number of broken bodies on the ground - adults and students, injured or dead - by the time she rounded about to face Weasley.

She both did and didn't recognize him, but she recognized the hair. It marked him as part of the Weasley-Potter clan, and every single one of them owed her a debt.

Bellatrix thought Molly would appreciate receiving bits of her son (or nephew or returned brother or whoever this one was) with little notes to detail exactly why Bella was doing this.

With a cold smile, she pointed her wand at Ron. "Crucio!" she exclaimed, aiming high, toward his heart.

Vulture'd been in the middle of a chat with Isaac, stretched comfortably on one of the couches when he received word of the attack. Isaac looked uneasy even as he watched Vulture hop up and head out. Attacks ... well, it made him wonder.

A quick pop home to get dressed and snatch his spare wand (apparently not an official rule, but something of an unspoken one, and not a bad idea either way) and another quick pop to Hogsmeade, and he was ready to go. He stepped aside as a trio of very small people rushed past him toward the castle, and he headed deeper into the village to get an idea of what was going on - and what needed to be tended to.

Octavius Pepper had greeted the return and activity of so many Death Eaters over the last few months with annoyance and a certain amount of well hidden fear. The last time they'd been active, he'd been forced into hiding with his family, not something which had made his Gryffindor soul very happy.

So when the call came through to the office of an attack on Hogsmeade, he didn't hesitate. He practically tipped his chair open as he rushed out to the Ministry apparition and a moment later he was in the village. He could smell smoke and hear the frightened screams from the children. He ignored them except to yell at them to get up to the castle and instead looked around for an enemy.

It had been fun, when he'd seen the marks. When it had stirred up the memories of days gone by. Of times when life had been more interesting. Of a life where he wasn't a fucking rat hiding in a hole.

So of course he'd responded. When he'd realized that Mulciber and Bellatrix and Macnair were all back, that they had even gotten wolves to come play? How could he not have responded?

The inside of his mask was damp from his harsh, panting breaths as he ducked around the corner of a building, crouching for a moment there in the smoke and shadow before he eased forward. Intense pale gaze swept over the field before he straightened. He saw a group of munchkins shooting past, two arguing with each other and he grinned as he flicked out a spell toward the one looking away from him. The boy stumbled, his wand skittering away from him as the large Death Eater stepped forward, his attention focused on the children. The rest of the pack split and ran, leaving their fallen comrade.

Bella hadn't said anything about taking prisoners, but he thought he might like someone to practice his spells on.

"Crucio!" he called as he flicked his wand toward the student, watching in fascination as the boy's body arched up off the ground, as he screamed so pretty.

Between the chaos and his own fascination at using spells he hadn't touched in ages, Yaxley was ... a little distracted from his surroundings.

Aberforth had been enjoying his day in Hogsmeade. He'd spent the morning going over the books for the pub, both the official ones and the unofficial ones, with Marcus to get a grasp of where he stood. He then spent some time letting Marcus tell him stories of things he'd done when he'd been older. It felt strange hearing those stories but he'd mostly liked the man he'd apparently become. He been a grouchy old bastard though. That made him laugh more than it really ought to.

He'd decided to go for a short walk before lunch and get a feel for how the village had changed in the decades since he remembered it and as such, he was not far from Honeydukes when the bombs started going off. He flattened himself on the ground at the first explosion, casting a protective shield over his body. He'd been through the Muggle war, the first one he'd recently learned, and he knew better than to run around when there were bombs going off.

It was only when the bombs stopped did he get up and then he saw the people moving in towards the stunned and hurt people and children in the village. Fury raced through him and he went running towards them, yelling and casting curses and hexes as he did. These bastards thought it was a good idea to attack children, did they? Well, he'd teach them otherwise.

He was still hyped up from the fun they'd had on the moon, and there were promises of more fun on Halloween. Sterling had never led them on this kind of fun. Sure, he'd been a little skeptical about Sterling handing over the pack, just like that, to some legend of a wolf just because he'd come back from the dead ...

... but it had been a good move.

Alex had been standing, sniffing around for something else to pounce on and tear up when something bit sharply at his arse. Yelping, he pivoted to see where the spell had come from before he jerked up his own wand. But he relied more on ... physical attacks. He was stronger than most people (and he liked to brag he was stronger than Sterling, though he didn't do much of that where Fenrir could hear), and few of them ever saw it coming.

With a gleeful sound, Alex launched himself at Abe, intending a tackle.
