Who: Kenzie, K'rin; then Kenzie & F'lox
When: The evening after K'rin's off-camera demotion.
Where: The Weyrbowl/K'rin's weyr. Then Fen's weyr.
Summary: Kenzie and K'rin are supposed to have a date. That... doesn't work out. THIS IS ALL LYRRA'S FAULT. (To be fair, she feels really bad.) Then Kenzie goes to find her brother and find out what the shells happened.
Since the last time she had gone to spend the evening with him she'd shown up with wet hair, looking like she'd just fallen out of a full shift at work (which she had, mind you), Kenzie had taken at least a little time to look pretty for her favorite blue rider before she left her room and strolled out to the bowl to wait for Valoth to drop down for her. She'd pinned her hair up while it was wet, letting it dry into the curls that K'rin enjoyed so much, and used pretty powders to make herself up. She'd slipped into a nice berry-colored dress that she thought he'd like seeing on the floor to his weyr at some point in the evening.
Her shift hadn't even been all that bad. His blue weyrling was coming along nicely, although he hadn't been in to see the boy; that was strange. Kenzie figured she would update him on the good news, and then otherwise improve his mood just with her presence. That was, after all, her special talent.
...
He was late.
With a thought, she summoned Prinz. The blue lizard popped into existence before her, cheeping happily. Although she knew perfectly well that he had been sleeping on her pillow just a moment before, he was happy to be useful to her. "Go and ask Valoth for me if K'rin has been delayed. It isn't nice to keep his lady friend waiting." Her tone was teasing, and she knew that her flitter would communicate that, and that in turn Valoth would communicate that. The blues were pretty good about that sort of thing.
