Russia, Day 4
Who: Group Xi
What: Dinner for the Grand Duke
Where: Alexander Palace
When: Day 4 (OOC, this will probably be open through the weekend)
Warnings: Could be anything. It's a party post.
Notes: Put your character's location in the subject line!

Dinner is an opulent affair.

The formal dining room has place settings for all scheduled attendees. Darcy and Helena are seated at either side of the Grand Duke, who keeps taking liberties with his hands that everyone at the table can see (including Vlad). The dinner is informal, and parties can dine at their leisure while enjoying the other activities of the evening.

The ballroom is chandelier lit for the evening, and an orchestra plays formal dance music, though the collection of nationalities present means that anyone can dance without standing out (as long as they're appropriately attired). There are curtained alcoves off the ballroom that afford some privacy for those so inclined. Lvov will stop his spies periodically, reminding them of the price of betraying him, while Pavel will be watching Joanie from a distance throughout the evening.

[Guests: Helena, Darcy, Vlad, Luther, Joanie, Nicky, Ella, Tegan]

Palace employees are all working the evening of the dinner/dance, and they have access to clothing in the guests' rooms (should they want to crash the festivities), and to the entire palace (should they want to work).

[Palace employees: Oliver, Will, Sam, Rosalie, Jane!Vaughn]

Outside the palace, the mob has seen Vlad, and they remain convinced he's Rasputin and that Jane!Vaughn and Ella are his witches. Even Alexandra seems to feel the same way, as she keeps drawing him aside and whispering to him. The mob is also still in pursuit of a Beast and a Tiger. Therefore, our village-hangers-on have been forced to hide in and within the palace, to keep from getting pitchforked. This group better sneak a bath and some clothing if they want to enter the palace proper.

[Hiding in the Palace: Daniel, Sebastian, Lily, Bernadette ]

[This is a party style thread. Put your character's location within the palace in your subject line. Have dinner, mingle, dance, sneak into one of those alcoves, go take a bath in a huge claw-foot tub, steal clothes, eat the Grand Duke for hitting on your woman, have fun!]

"I haven't heard anyone else speak English the way we can." A touch defeated in texture, her answer was an initial one. It was apparent she had another query on her mind. She was fascinated by what he'd suggested before--Apartment? Were they from the same building?--she was ever mindful that this all was seemingly to good to be true. And thus, an inward sense of longing and horror came over her. What if he was only a sympathetic filament of her terribly wiry dream?

Listen, closely...

"Bellum?" She'd finally acknowledged and named it. "I just had moved into an apartment complex named Bellum, before it all happened to me..." Her eyes widened searchingly to his, to excavate any sort of response; whether he recognized it with his brow, whether he replied saying that he had been there too. She was mentally on the edge of her seat. With how her shoulders sloped as if wincing, it was obvious she was preparing for a reply.

"... where was it that you were?"

To the rapping of that attractively muffled drum...

Had he heard English? Sebastian had mostly been caught up within his own thoughts and fears for the duration of this insane adventure he had been thrust into. He barely noticed the Russian words around him, let alone if anyone was speaking the same tongue as he was. It was a frightening realization that dawned upon him -- had he not bumped into Lily, he would have remained alone.

His eyebrows shot up, his eyes becoming wide at first, as if he could not believe what she had said. That reaction quickly dissipated into deep thought, however.

"Bellum. Bellum Letale." Sebastian did not ask it, he merely stated it, confused and yet...satisfied. There was a connection here. Was it a coincidence? It did not seem likely. But then again, none of this seemed likely, either. This was something beyond belief, and any connection was a possible cause.

"I had just moved in, too. It was my first night there, actually. Do you..." He paused before deciding that nothing he said at this point would be any sillier than reality itself. "Do you think the apartment has something to do with this?"

She siiiighed.

It was one of those very unsatisfied sighs. The sort that puffs the cheeks out with its retreating air. The kind hemmed with dashing hopes; the brand known for its disappointed material. She didn't want it to be the apartment it self's fault. She didn't want to have to relocate, or deal with bad dreams all the time. She didn't want to feel sick again... not somewhere new, not now. Not ever.

Her eyes averted his and trickled down slowly to the floor. She wasn't sure how to face him with how she felt now. "I hope not. I just moved there. I really don't want," She cleared her throat--how could she weather this without sounding too melancholy? "I don't think it's possible. I'm not sure if it's possible. I just want this to be one of my many nightmares. When I wake up, I want to feel normal again." She looked up at him briefly, but as her glass of water raised, ice cubed chiming against the glass, she'd glanced into the water which stole her attention instead. Hoping to scry an easier option. The coldness felt nice as it slid down her throat.

"Do you want to go outside with me? For some air?"
