Group G: Scherezade, Beauty, Phantom, Christine

The plaque on the wall says:

In the Beauty's mind there is a play
From the greatest Bard of his day,
And with her to direct Phantom and his lady,
The queen of tales shall see
A scene of two star-crossed lovers,
Horrible though one may be.
A word of warning for those present here:
Not a drop of real blood shall this play house see,
Or the house will become a prison
For the offender, whoever he (or she) shall be.

A replica of The Globe Theatre, down to the last board and peg.

Any of the scenes between Romeo and his Juliet may be recited, but they must be performed verbatim as per Ella's memory. If Ella's memory is wrong, recitation according to what she or the audience member recalls works just as well. Only Bran and Lotte may be on the stage. A back door will open when the scene is complete.

Though Lotte sent a smile towards Sherri she couldn't believe that wasn't the end. Her mind went over what was next, looking to Ella for a moment before moving back to the railing. The rest of the exchange passed on and even though they were almost done, Lotte grimaced at Juliet's lines of prisoning someone like a bird. How could anyone find this romantic?

"Sweet, so would I. Yet I should kill thee with much cherishing. Good night, good night! Parting is such sweet sorrow, that I shall say good night till it be tomorrow."

Even if she'd messed up before, Lotte knew that had to be the end for Juliet - she could remember that now - and she began to move down the stairs as she finished.

Bran spoke his lines almost without thinking, his mouth forming the words without really registering what was being said. They had to be near the end now, though - he didn't know the play, but if Juliet was saying good night, then it was probably the part where Romeo left. It had taken long enough.

"Sleep dwell upon thine eyes, peace in thy breast. Were I sleep and peace... so sweet to rest." He finished with quiet relief, although now he needed to figure out what his next move was. Taking off as soon as an exit appeared would look guilty, but he didn't want to stick around for Ella's beast boyfriend to show up and rip into him. "That's it, right? We're done?"

Lotte got to the bottom of the stairs, right after Bran finished. She gave him a quick, awkward smile before turning towards their 'audience'. In another time, maybe if Diego or James had been there, she could have made a joke about how this was - even do a cursty before their audience - but instead she could only sigh. "It should be..."

As if on cue, doors which hadn't been behind Ella and Sherri before opened. From where she was, she couldn't see through but Lotte didn't care - it meant out and back home. She nearly skipped towards the edge of the stage, before realizing the vines were still there. Her smile faded and she paused before them, remembering the warning on the plaque - not a drop of real blood.

"Ella? Can you do something about the vines?"

When they were finished, Sherri had raised her hands to applaud, but stopped herself just in time. No... it probably wouldn't be the best idea, at the moment. Lotte's change in demeanor had her looking over her shoulder and smiling in relief at the door... and then her eyes widened at the reminder about the blood. She was glad Lotte had remembered because (though she wasn't about to say it out loud) she had completely forgotten that part.

After a moment of surprise that Ella was somehow responsible for the vines, Sherri advanced toward the stage to take a slightly closer look at them. "If not, we... might be able to bind them back, somehow..." She really hoped that Ella could make them part or something, because she wasn't sure she wanted to risk that.

As Sherri advanced toward the stage, Ella stood, and she looked back at the newly opened door. "They'll come down once I'm out. It's just because I- because I'm uncertain," she said not wanting to admit to fear in front of the man on the stage. Ella backed toward the doors, and she continued to move until the opening was at her back, until she could feel the air of the lobby at the nape of her neck. Turning, she realized where the door was - it was the one from the Catacombs, and she remembered them covered with her blood, and she had to stifle back a purely fearful reaction. The vines soared to the roof, and she turned and she ran.

She didn't stop until she'd reached R1 and locked herself in, until she'd hidden in the bedroom with Kat and the sugar glider (and without Daniel).

The vines came down as soon as she was inside the apartment, as if they knew she was safe, and the three remaining members of their group were left alone, with a clear path out of the Globe.

Bran saw the doors at the same time Lotte did, but he held himself back from racing towards them - partly because he didn't want to look too desperate, but mostly because of the fact that Ella's damned vines were still in their way. He regarded them with a mixture of wariness and curiosity, as though he didn't know what they could do or that they were spurred on by her fear. As far as everyone present was concerned, he'd only heard about what Ella could do; he'd never seen it for himself.

He simply watched as she backed towards the door, knowing that she was afraid but keeping his expression appropriately confused when the vines suddenly shot upwards.

Then she was gone, apparently spooked by something, but frankly he didn't really care what. All that mattered was the vines disappeared a few minutes after she left, and they could finally leave. Shaking his head, Bran slipped off the edge of the stage, headed towards the doors - freedom. If Lotte didn't say anything, then Ella wouldn't know his apartment number yet.

Lotte barely understood the relationship between Ella's fears the vines - before, when Ella had demonstrated her 'magic' to her, they'd been friendly, leaning towards as she was calm. She knew Ella was scared of Bran, even if he hadn't done anything - but did she really have to trap them with the vines? She shook her head, watching Ella go and followed Bran down once he moved forward. An oof escaped her as she hit the ground, then moved to Sherri to shake her hand.

"I'm sorry we had to meet like this, but I'm glad you were here," Lotte said honestly. She gave her a smile before looking over her shoulder at Bran. He was already at the doors and she frowned.

She couldn't let him go like that. She couldn't. Lotte bit her lip before looking back to Sherri. "We should talk sometime. When there's less stress-" She pulled her hand away, with an honest grin. "I'm in 1206 if you need anything."

With a final smile, Lotte pulled at the skirt of her nightgown and took off at the doors with a run. "Bran!"

After giving the two of them a moment to get safely out of the way, Sherri followed Lotte toward the door, walking slowly enough that, hopefully, they would be able to start on their way to somewhere private enough to have what was obviously a much needed discussion. She would look them up later, if it wasn't all a dream.

It was a strange welcome to her new life, and Sherri would have to make sure to not let on to Joss that she was, possibly, beginning to become a believer.
