Who: Everyone!
What: Transformation Plot Post
Where: All over.
When: Moonrise on the 28th.
Warnings: All kinds, I expect.

The moon slipped up past the horizon full, round, and white. Its effects had been predicted, though perhaps not fully believed by the residents of the building.

Moonlight streamed through the windows of the building, washing the city in pale light. For the tenants of Bellum Letale, where ever they were, scattered in the night, it had a tangible effect.

Change rippled through the building, much as it had over a month before. But this was not simply a twitch in the fabric of things, gone in the blink of an eye. It was a rolling change, gradual as the moonrise, tangible, and, in some cases, likely terrifying in its inexorability. People became what they were, what they ought to have been, and what they weren't.

The moon was up, and trouble was about to run high in Bellum.

[Notes: Remember that the events of last month still apply-I.E, those who became vampires will be vampires when they take on their fable form, the Frog Prince will still be human after being turned back last plot, etc. Whether the fables are aware a month has passed since they were last around is up to the players. This log posted with the anon account so that the mods do not wake up tomorrow with 100 notifications in their gmail. Go forth and plot!]

Stairwell to the eleventh floor

[After this.]

Dracula was quite pleased with the way things were going so far, and even though he knew that he had precious little time in which to be free, all was not yet lost. He had Mina, after all, and despite her reluctance she was incapable of refusing him. She was one of the undead now, which meant she belonged to him. Now he needed to find Lucy, and once he accomplished that it was high time that he allowed them to feed. They needed their strength, and their first kill was necessary if they were to truly become worthy opponents to Van Helsing and his vampire hunters.

Considering the fact that Lucy was very likely a vampire as well, he knew it would be hardly difficult to find her - he sensed that she was somewhere near the eleventh floor, so that was where he headed, Mina in tow. "First we find your friend Lucy, and then it will be time for the two of you to taste your first blood." It was a statement, almost an order, one he knew neither of them would be able to refuse.

Despite her efforts to the contrary, Mina’s mouth watered at the mention of blood, her thoughts drifting to the precious few moments where she smelled the blood in Beauty and was inexplicably drawn to her. Immediately she was disgusted with herself and she drew her lips into a frown as they descended down the stairs. She had hoped that Lucy would escape this fate but she knew that if she had changed, her friend would most certainly be transformed as well.

The eleventh floor was drawing closer and Mina was flooded with familiarity, knowing exactly who also should be there. Her Jonathan was her hope, and she prayed that he was safe, that they wouldn’t catch him unawares, or that Lucy hadn’t struck him first. She wanted to run and find him and yet also hide, not wanting him to see the terrible creature she had become. “He will stop you,” she said quietly, before adding, “Us. He will stop us.” Her voice was sure that her Jonathan would find a way to destroy Dracula. Between him and Van Helsing, Mina was absolute in her conviction, although there was a hint of fear in her tone, for she knew she could - should, really - be destroyed as well. They were abominations. None of them should be free to walk.

This time, the dress no longer seemed so odd or ugly; in fact, as Lucy ran her fingers over the fabric and ruffles, she felt beautiful. Beautiful -- but hungry.

Even though she had been on her way back to the -- what was it, apartment? -- she suddenly no longer wanted to be near Peter. No, Jonathan. She hated Jonathan. Spinning on her heel, she turned her back to the apartment door and started for the stairs, sniffing, searching for the elusive thing that would satiate her.

At the stairs, she paused, baring her teeth happily at the sight of Dracula and Mina, catching the last of Mina's warning. "He won't stop us," and she sounded almost amused.

Dracula laughed, the same cold sound he'd emitted outside R1. Her blind faith in her fool of a husband was almost as amusing as it was pathetic. Oh, she was reluctant now, but once she tasted blood he was sure that Mina would no longer be the weak thing she was now. Really, he simply could not understand why the man called Vlad was so smitten with her counterpart. He was a fool as well, although there was at least still some hope for him, if he stopped trying to deny his true instincts.

He sensed Lucy before he saw her, and the blonde's reply to Mina's defiance drew from him a pleased smile. Yes, this one was more than eager to feed. "My dear Lucy. We have been looking for you." He stepped down onto the landing, noting the hunger gleaming in her eyes.

"Come. It is time for both of you to feed." Dracula paused, considered the stairs, and instead turned towards the elevator with a sharp smile. However fickle it may have been in the past, he knew it would bend to him now. He had never seen anything like it, but Vlad knew how to use it, and it was that knowledge which he seized upon as he beckoned the two female vampires forward. "This device will bring us to our destination quickly, and with less obstacles."

"Oh Lucy," Mina sighed sadly once she caught the hunger in her gaze. Disappointment flickered across her features for a moment but she pushed it away. Lucy couldn't be blamed. This unnatural curse that was coursing through them wasn't her fault.

Once more the talk of feeding made her lips part in anticipation but she cast a concerned look once he gestured to the elevator. "Where are we going?" If they were to feed from someone nearby, they only need take the stairs. One floor below, maybe two, and they would find someone, her mind already turning over the options as if it was the most natural thing in the world. No, he wanted to go somewhere else quickly, and she drew an unnecessary breath at the realization.

"We can't." She didn't want to hurt anyone here, people she knew, even a little. But outside there were strangers, innocent people, who didn't deserve to be preyed upon by the three of them. She squared her feet as she shook her head. "We can't go outside." She was going to anger him, she knew, but there was no one in her immediate vicinity that she was overly concerned about. With Beauty around she feared he would attack her. Now there were only three, she would fight him every step. She couldn't stop him, but she wouldn't follow him easily. There was not so much to lose. She was already dead.

Lucy frowned, puzzled, and a little pouty, before she flounced against Mina -- her dear, sweet, moral Mina -- then hissed happily, like a cat purring. "We can," she pleaded, batting her eyes dramatically. "I'm hungry."

Clasping Mina's arm, as if they were schoolgirls again, Lucy hugged the other vampire close in a cruel imitation of warm affection. But the baring of her teeth and the empty look in her eye ruined the effect.

Dracula had already started towards the elevator, expecting the two women to follow him, but he stopped abruptly when Mina voiced her disapproval. He turned around slowly, his eyes burning with scarlet anger. For a long moment he stared, his expression a mix of displeasure and disdain. Her reluctance to feed as she should have was a sign of weakness, a pathetic attempt to hold on to her non-existent humanity. "We can," he said sharply, echoing Lucy's words. "And we will. I know you long for the taste of blood, Mina. Cease this pitiful resistance and submit to what you are."

He was far more pleased with Lucy, but they had no time to waste waiting for Mina to agree. Dracula strode forward, grasping the darker haired woman's wrist cruelly and practically dragging her towards the elevator. His grip was like iron, and unlike her was not weakened from lack of blood. "Come, Lucy. Mina will have to follow your lead, it seems."

She stared right back at him, only faltering when she felt Lucy beside her, although the cool touch – not as cold as it could have been had Mina been alive and warm – reminded her that her friend wasn’t quite herself, and would never be. When she heard Dracula speak once more her gaze hardened, and her jaw clenched tightly at his touch. She followed his lead, but her chin was held up, her eyes wouldn’t meet his, and she would say no more. She ceased to resist, as he said, but she refused to submit.

Lucy trailed after the two with a shrill, empty giggle, another holdover from those years of being human. If she suspected Mina's recalcitrance her demeanor didn't show it; instead, Lucy imitated a young coquette, leaning against Dracula with kittenish playfulness, holding onto Mina's hand.

"We won't see Van Helsing, will we?" Lucy parroted the name even though a part of her felt real fury, the echo of that fucker rattling in her half-dead brain.

Dracula bared his fangs at her defiance, but it was only a warning, letting her know that he wouldn't tolerate such disobedience for long. Once they reached the elevator, Dracula paused, using the mortal's knowledge and pressing the button to summon it. Once it arrived he shoved Mina forward, his frown becoming a predatory smile once his attention settled on Lucy, and he waited until she followed her friend before stepping in himself and pressing the button to begin its descent.

"No," he told her, his tone dismissive. "Even if we did, Van Helsing cannot stop us now, nor can his foolish friends." Floor after floor passed them by, and despite his confidence he was always alert, just in case. "They are only human, weak and frail. If they attempt to stand in our way, their blood shall be ours."

Mina would have stumbled at such a throw but even with her lack of blood she was more graceful than ever. She settled into the corner of the elevator, the farthest place available and kept her hands clasped together in front of her. At the mention of Van Helsing, her eyes also began to scan the floors as they passed. But hers were full of hope, wanting to see any sign of the man, or perhaps her husband, or anyone else that might stop them tonight.

She was getting impatient with hunger, even if a part of her shrieked and shrilled at the idea of drinking blood. Dracula's reassurances about Van Helsing made her giggle again -- an arch, hollow noise -- and she hovered eagerly at the seam of the elevator doors, desperate for her meal.

Dracula barely spared Mina a glance, laughing tonelessly at Lucy's eagerness instead. There were passing glimpses of figures as they passed certain floors, but none of them were Van Helsing, which meant they were unworthy of his attention.

The elevator doors finally slid open when they reached the lobby, where the scent of blood was stronger than it had been previously. Beyond those doors was a world Dracula had never known, so unlike the one he came from, yet it fascinated him. Vlad knew his way around the city, and since the man was a predator just like he was, it would be hardly difficult to find a suitable prey. He turned to Mina, grasping her arm once again and pulling her out of the elevator.

"Now, my dears... it is time for us to hunt." His voice grew sharp as they made their way towards the front doors. "Stay close to me, Lucy. This world is not like the one you know, and we must be careful."

Mina couldn’t stop herself from taking a deep inhale, drinking in the lingering scent of blood. She didn’t have time to grasp anything to hold on – not as if it would have made much difference – when Dracula grabbed her once more. She cast a glance back over her shoulder to the elevator and then around at the building, hoping and praying for something to stop them but it was no use. She stepped through the exit and into the city and she prayed she would be forgiven for whatever she might do this night.
