Weird. So they're just as clueless as we are.

Not really Yeah. I managed to be green in a suburb in South Carolina and not get thrown in a loony bin, so that was pretty successful.

Awesome. Did he at least stab Dracula or something?

Nobody saw you? That's a surprise. In the middle of summer you'd expect someone to have been out. Drinking, maybe.

No, he went on a vampire patrol. Not that he did a very good job outside of stopping Lucy.

Eeeeeeeeeh We were seen, I think. But it was dark, and kids are crazy, you know. Always pulling stunts like this.

Oh lame. Well, at least nobody died?

Lucky for you, then. Plenty of room to run, not a lot of people in a small given area.

That we know of. But he stopped some, I guess.

Yeah, having an entire neighborhood of squishy, blood-filled people to play fucked-up tag in is so much better than an enclosed building that keeps the crazy inside.

If he saved even one life, then he did a great thing. Don't do that brooding anti-hero thing, it makes you sound so lame.

Think of it this way. There weren't any endless staircases.

I'm not doing anything like that.

This is true. Though pushing Javert down them might have been Though I bet you didn't wake up the next morning with a kid screaming in your ear.

You so are. "Yeah, Van Helsing might've saved a few people. Or not, whatever, I don't give a shit because I have to go make sure that my stubble is the right length to be considered "rugged" and not "crazy hobo.""

No, and I didn't realize that was something I had to look out for.

I don't have any stubble right now. If I was brooding, I'd have spent time lamenting the fact that he couldn't have saved more while simultaneously wishing I'd been the one to do it. Or something like that, anyway

Yeah, word of advice: never pass out in a park. It will not end well.

Then grow some. And that's bullshit, you don't brood about not saving lives. You'd brood more about a book catching on fire.

I will keep that well in mind.

That's because there is literally no point to burning a book. There is nothing to be gained from it. It's so inherently sad that I don't have a choice but to brood.

So, precisely. I'm not brooding about anything.

Good.

Awww that brought a tear to my eye. You're so compassionate when it comes to random acts of violence. Does that mean you'll hold a funeral service if I decide to throw my fridge out the window, because there's no point to it?

You'll find something else to brood about. You need it.

No. I'd help you with that. There is just a negative line of reasoning to book burning that isn't even bearable.

I need it? Oh, please.

Truly you are the book hero. They must love you. I'm surprised all the characters here aren't flocking to your door to meet you, their savior.

You do. You're Mr. Dark and Brooding, always pissed off and bitchy about something. Without something to angst about, your head would explode.

Strange, I managed to survive my childhood without something like that and yet my head remains completely intact.

Which means that back then, instead of dryly taunting people to beat the shit out of you, you painted yourself bright colors and jumped in front of them while waving your arms and screaming "HIT ME HIT ME HIT ME".
