[There are a few moments of the sound of papers fluttering, being flipped through and stacked on top of one another. A few envelopes are opened, and after all this sound, there's a sudden silence.] Dr. Archer. [His voice is winter cold, devoid of any shred of humor or sympathy.] It seems that I have overpowered your consciousness. Or perhaps you have yielded.

[He pauses, taking in a slow breath.] Both are upsetting weaknesses. I'm sure you can hear me as I speak, but I would like to preserve this on an audio recording so that you may listen to it again and again at your leisure, for what I have to say to you is enormous in magnitude.

I have here statements from your bank and various debt collectors. You are a smart boy without an ounce of sense concerning finances. [He heaves a sigh, setting down a stack of papers.] Your funding is low. Last month I gave you a solution, and you ignored it. I am very disappointed. [His voice takes on a tone of scorn.] You have the gift of a god, and you waste it on hesitation. I'm disgusted.

[He pauses.] You must use this talent soon if you care about your research at all. Research the residents of this building and choose which one of them will fund your next round of tests. Do it quickly.

[There's another pause, and the scorn returns.] Another thing. I have been reading over this forum, and have seen your disturbing messages to 906. Even tonight you have displayed...worrisome behaviors towards her counterpart. Be careful, Archer. Those forays are meaningless, and will serve only to distract you. Heed my word.

[The recording proceeds for another thirty seconds of simply breathing and the shuffling of papers. Finally, it turns off.]

Upon further reflection, this wasn't necessary - but I have enough time to kill. I suppose composing my thoughts wouldn't be the worst of ideas. After all my suggestion on the forums, would be best followed through on my end.

[Chiding]

You should have changed back with my notes in your hand. I will not elaborate on those - they're self-explanatory enough. You've done alright here - you're no criminal. [Wry] In fact, I would say I'm not ashamed of you. We do have some common interests - most of them.

But, Luther. You haven't applied yourself. You've grown soft. [Warning] Don't deny it - you know it's true. You spend as much time with 'friends', as you do actively searching for Valjean. [A pause] Forgive me, Valjean. You cannot let him go this time - you are wasting time, with your dalliances.

Keep the building and those here safe. Keep doing that - do it better. Crack down on the crime - knowing the rooms for the fables, is now a gift. Act on it, Luther. Do right.

[Another sigh as it clicks off.]

[Cheerfully] Hello, Cole! I suppose this will be rather strange, hearing my voice like this, but the Inspector raises a fair point. There are some things I need for you to know before I leave until next month.

Aaron remembers how he died, Cole. He argued with Trenton, the man in P4, about Shiloh. Apparently Boyd was in his apartment, and Aaron thought she was dead and lost his temper. It was him. You need to act quickly before he realizes what you know. The poor boy deserves justice.

Next: you need to speak with Ileana as quickly as possible. Her counterpart informed me that she and Stefan are thieves, which is how they support themselves. You must soothe her fears before she does something irrational, do you understand? Telling her how you feel could also not hurt. She believes, apparently, that you only have a fleeting interest in her. [A pause] As well, you should keep the Inspector from finding out about the thieving part.

And as for this matter of your stalker, Cole; do not attempt to go after him on your own. I know you are considering it. [A brief silence before it clicks off]

[It takes the Wolf some minutes to figure out how to use the lock properly, so by the time he gets it to work he sounds even more irritated than usual. There is a sound of rustling, pacing back and forth.]

You're a fool. Worse, you're a lovesick fool, and there is nothing on the earth more insufferable. You've put yourself at odds with me. I want to keep living, you want to be dead.

[A growl.] Forget about the girl. You don't see it, because you're a fool as I said, but you're wrong for one another. She's going to keep seeing anyone but you, you're going to keep getting upset. And you'll keep hurting her, which seems to bother you, so just stop. It's not complicated. She's as bad as you are. [A mutter.] Broken things can't fix one another.

Leave it be. Find someone else. Don't kill yourself. Don't try, or I'll make you wish you hadn't.

[A pause.]

We're wolves. You're one too, an awful one. [A bemused huff.] Not the least bit impressive. The point is, we're not meant to be on our own. I can handle it. You can't. Find some...people, another mate. There are more of them out there.

[A thoughtful pause. There's a wolf's grin in the last statement.]

And next time, leave some food, or I'll eat one of those sweet, tender young girls who spent tonight shouting everywhere with their numbers attached.

[An unnerving chuckle through sharp teeth, and the message clicks off.]

[There are a few seconds of silence, during which slight movements can be heard - her toying with her braid and with the collar of her nightdress, her fingers tapping on the keys of the laptop]

[Her voice is more open than Ella's, less guarded] We do not know one another, you and I. My name is Beauty, and you know my Beast [audible, fond smile] far better than you know me. I wanted to leave you this voice recording because I've spent the entire night locked away, trying to think of a solution to our problems, but I find myself at a loss.

You see, I care for the Beast. He is gruff and he can be impossibly growlish, but he is a good man. I don't want anything to happen to him [heartfelt pleading], and I have to beg your help for that. If I could keep him safe on my own, I would, but I cannot, and he is too proud to ask. [Soft sigh] We haven't had much of a chance to get to know one another yet, but I know enough to know I want to know more. If you hurt yourself, then he will be hurt also. [Softly] I do not want him hurt.

You have no reason to do as I ask, but I have no one else to help me in this but you. It is entirely selfish, but I do not wish to be parted from him, and if you do not try I will be.

I am not here to plead Ella's case, as that is hers and not mine, but I do know this: She thinks you are worth much more than you think you are. But you need to find your own value to believe that, and you can't help anyone until you like yourself.

I like you. Please, be strong?

[There is a hesitation before the sound cuts off, as if she didn't know whether to say goodbye or simply stop talking, and then there is silence]

Hello - I. Well, you should be Charlotte hearing this. Otherwise, I'll feel silly listening to this in the morning. This is Christine and - [A small, frustrated sound] According to the people on this device, we are the same person. And yet not.

[It's hesitant.]

I think I would have liked to know this - and understand it a bit more. Your letter helped - the one to me that is - but things were far too confusing. [A sigh and the rustle of fabric as she moves closer to the television, voice going softer] I'm telling you this - really telling you - because you should understand. If this Bran is like Erik and you are like me.

The letter was a good idea, but you can't do it again. He won't trust it - I wouldn't, even. Too many things have happened and it seems that every time I turn back to the screen, there's another accusation. Too many opportunities for it. [A shudder] It doesn't sound pleasant out there either - I'm not sure how safe it is. Meg was in danger because I was put with her.

[There's silence for a minute, other than the fiddling of her hands in her robe.]

It - it had to happen eventually. The game with Raoul - it's just that. It's a game, before we both have to go. He has to go to the North Pole - I have to go with him. [Her voice gives out on her and there's a low moan.] It's just - it's just now instead of later. At least Raoul won't get hurt - if something was to happen to him, I'd kill myself. At least he's alive - at least he doesn't know about him and these horrors.

[It's quiet, as she swallows, trying not to cry.]

Please, be careful. And - and as a favor? [It's hopeful.] I don't want to know how it ends - please, don't let me find out. But - I wouldn't mind knowing about you. As I seem to only have [A sniffle] Only a few pieces of information, which are from you. Directly.

[Two minutes pass and though several times, it seems like Christine will speak again she doesn't. It clicks off in silence.]

[He sounds far too amused] Hello, Vlad. There really is no need for me to do this, since you are quite capable of knowing exactly what I think of you. I may disappear come sunrise, but you know I am never truly gone. Despite your numerous shortcomings, we do share many things in common.

That being said, I am very disappointed in you. The people here do not take me seriously, and for that I blame you. [A sigh] 1202B, 204, and 205 must be dealt with. If you are too much of a coward to do it yourself, then ensure that I will be able to do it for you when the next full moon comes. [His voice sharpens] I will not tolerate any of this nonsense about being locked up, do you understand? If you dare attempt to imprison me, then every single one of your so-called friends shall know the truth about why you really left Romania. What will Helena think of you then, hm? [A cruel, chilling laugh]

Why is it taking you so damned long to kill Van Helsing? Make it look like an accident if you need to, but get rid of him - or at least Seward and Harker. Isolate him, perhaps, so that when the time comes it will only be he and I. I expect you to start taking some action, Vlad, or I will be rid of you as soon as possible. I have no desire to dwell in such a pitiful, weak excuse for a human being such as yourself.

Seek out the man who lives in 102. His counterpart is fascinating, and unlike the others he actually possesses a great deal of intelligence. He may be useful in the future. [A long pause, then carelessly:] Ah, yes. The entertaining girl in 1007 would like you to speak to a man who lives on this floor. He hurt her, apparently; and I believe you know who I speak of.

Until we meet again, Vlad, one last thing: stop fighting. That urge you feel? It's there for a reason. [Laughter can be heard as it clicks off]

[The sound clicks on, and there is no background sound. Moriarty gets right to the point, and he's in full form-eloquent, cold, and disdainful.]

Though I very much doubt there is any sort of point to this, I feel I might as well cover all contingencies. Enough strangeness has bubbled up tonight that I cannot take the risk of saying nothing and finding that I am in the wrong, and the mad rabble are in the right.

To...Jonathan. [The name sounds foreign.] I will admit, were I the sort of man willing to acknowledge fancy, I might be inclined to say I can feel you there, hear you. You seem displeased with me.

Some stunted sense of altruism, no doubt. To what end, exactly? For what gain?

I do not know exactly what will happen when the sun rises, nor do I know where I will find myself, or where you will be. But mark me-if you get in my way? If you thwart my plans to go after the detective? I will make you regret it in ways you cannot even fathom. If I am to be, as some imply, a prisoner within you for a month, I will take that time to observe whom it is you care about, where they live, and what sort of 'story' they themselves are on this night once a month. And next month, assuming I have the freedom to move around the building as these other stories seem to have in the past, I will use that time to destroy those things you care about.

[There is a soft sound as he leans back in his chair.]

Mark me, boy, we are not entirely different. I suspect that is why I am with you, and not someone else. You have drive, but you lack direction. Were you wise, you would allow me to give you some. You do not seem to lack intelligence, and perhaps even have a small gift for analysis. So put it to use. Stop lowering yourself to the level of lesser men and carry my legacy.

[A pause.]

Or I will crush you and the things you love with a level of prejudice that you cannot imagine.

[A smile.]

I think that, if my deductions are correct, that the man who should be hearing this is called Bran. I don't know who you are, monsieur, and yet at the same time I feel as though I do. There were voices that I recognized tonight, voices that I should not have found familiar. I still don't fully understand this, but I believe I am beginning to.

Your note was somewhat helpful. I could not leave this room, so your warning was useless, but you could have been more specific. Next time, I demand that you are. Christine is here, and she was staying with Meg in 501 - although her actual apartment is, apparently, 1206. Why was she there? Why was there a note left saying that she was gone, when it was a lie? I will not tolerate being lied to in the future; take note of that.

I have watched these forums very carefully. It would be wise to take note of 401, since I believe he is law enforcement. There is a woman who calls herself Beauty, and her... counterpart, is it?... seems to know Christine's. I feel as though she has meddled in our affairs before, but you must not have done anything about it if she continues to do so. I expect that to change.

[Another pause, followed by the rustling of paper] I don't know what you feel for this Charlotte, but be sure you do not do anything to hurt her. Do not let any harm come to her, either. Watch over her, because if she and Christine are the same, then their safety and well-being is dependent on each other. Protect her as I would protect Christine, Bran, and perhaps we can co-exist with little trouble. [Another pause, as though he is about to say something else, but it clicks off instead]

I understand, I truly do, that you think the man - Daniel - does not care for you. I am sorry to inform you that the man cannot care for you until he is well. Then you can win his heart, if he has any sort of sense, that is.

Which means you are to stop feeling inadequate, because this is nothing personal. Think of our name! We are not without charms. I have verified this with the man - William - You should speak with him. I think he finds you attractive still.

In regards to Jane: Do not give her more value than she deserves, lest Daniel think the same.

In regards to Red: Do not go back to the man unless he tells you he wants you and you alone. Need is not love. Repeat this every morning. It will not help to get in a painful cycle with him. You have to make it about something else.

Stay away from Bran. I do not trust him. I expect to be here next month, Ella. Listen to the other audio posts once you've heard this; they're informative.

[There is a sharp sound of fingers on keys as she cuts off the recording]

[A pause.] Find that lady Joanie. She's really smart. You need more smart friends, even if they're girls. And take care of Wendy's brothers!

This is an odd request, I know. [Her voice begins to fail her, it shakes and gets louder than intended.] But please, because of this evening or what I said or did - don't do anything to the people here. It was- [She swallows, attempting to sound more polite] It was not intentional. Any of it.

[There's a moment of silence before she begins to speak again] I told Charlotte that I'd- [She stops, silent for a moment more.] No - I did, but that's hers to take care of. [A shaky sigh, before she says genuinely] I'm sorry. Ask her before the moon, if you haven't planned for it.

[Without hesitation, and far too brightly] Hi, Hannah. I suppose there really isn't a need for me to do this, but it can't hurt, can it? In any case, I think this may be the closest to meeting we shall ever get.

Now, what was I going to say? [A thoughtful pause] Oh, yes. Find Wendy's girl after this, please? She seems very nice, and I think you might like her. She likes Nick, did you know that? And Nick likes her. It's very sweet.

She has brothers as well, and she's afraid that the policeman might think she's doing something wrong and take them away. Do not let that happen. Families who care about one another like that should never be separated. If policemen are meant to protect people, then I'm sure he will listen.

[The Beast is pissed. He's had about enough of this wallowing around and the alcohol fumes make him sneeze and he didn't get to see Beauty this month and he couldn't get out of the room and Daniel's depression makes him very tired and it all makes him extremely grumpy.]

I do not care about your stupid scribblings and your childish fear of the sky and the idiotic women you get in your bed because the men around here are apparently incapable of pleasing a woman and you are the best they can get. You are not to have one more drop of drink until you stop being such a cowardly, moping, lily-livered bastard and grow a devil cursed spine. Get up off your arse and care or so help me I will tell them all about what you think of yourself and what you think about doing and then I will tell them to tell that cold whoreson you call a father and then he will lock you up somewhere and dunk you in opium fumes until you don't know which way is up.

A final threatening snarl that's cut-off midroar as the recording ends.
