[Holmes recognizes the accent, but is not aware yet that it is anything but genuine.]

My counterpart tells me that the building itself is responsible for the situation. I cannot corroborate, but have found no evidence to the contrary.

[A pause, then curiosity] A fellow Londoner, I see. Have you found America as... disconcerting as I have?

So I have heard, and have yet to see proof of. But, as you say, there is not yet anything to indicate otherwise, either.

Considering that my first experience with it has been spending it trapped in a stranger's room, yes. Disconcerting indeed.

Ah, it's your first time. Well I hope you won't be quite so restrained the next time around. Strange as the city is, it offers beautiful sights to see.

And I hope I will have the chance to take them in if I need go through this again. Might I ask your name?

Jackson Miller, an honor to meet you, sir. I was just telling your colleague what an admirer I am of your work.

Can't say I have heard of you. Some of the others here, I have read about. [A beat] You know of my work with Watson?

I have indeed-read it in the papers and in the books, as they have been released, the same as the rest of the country.

Sensationalized stories, I assure you. My partner is a romantic. I'm surprised so many have read them.

Romantic, perhaps, but the truth in them is fascinating. One cannot help but marvel at such feats of deduction.

[A chuckle] Why thank you, sir. It is always nice to meet a fan of analytic reasoning.
