Wow. Was this a bad time to move in?

Either I got the short end of the stick here, or this is a huge group roleplaying thing. Vampire Masquerades or something, right?

It's like a Netflix commercial in here. So far I've read about RenFaire, vampires, and wolves. Maybe with some zombies thrown in, though I'm not completely sure on that one yet.

Nice to meet you, Daisy. I'm Ben. And I'm only a floor down, actually. 407.

I'd rather not -- vampires worry me enough, and like I said, I liked my clothes and all but it was really confusing. My mother would flip her shit if she knew this is what living in NYC was all about.

Where are you from, Ben?

Can't say I blame your mom. I might too, if I weren't here already.

Hah, am I that obvious? I moved in from PA a while back. How about you?

No, not obvious -- I'm totally sticking out like a sore thumb here. My boss at work says I'm as bad as a yokel from Arkansas (even though I'm from Baltimore) but I can't help it that I just love the city!! I don't think it's very fun to pretend everything isn't impressive and cool, you know? Anyway, I moved in about a month ago? Not very long ago, but long enough that I've unpacked everything and found my favorite seat in the coffee shop nearby. That makes me practically a local! :)

Even if your boss does tease you, I think you've got the right idea. You might as well enjoy everything while it's all still impressive and cool.

It sounds like you're off to a pretty good start. Takes me forever to get unpacked, for one.

Need help unpacking? I'm not very good at, like, interior design or anything but I can bring cupcakes and music and I'm pretty strong -- not, like, bodybuilder strong but I did carry all my things up to the fifth floor because the elevator couldn't be counted on. That's pretty good, right?

God, I can't rope an innocent in to unpacking for me. That's torture, I'd feel awful. What's the deal with that elevator anyway?

I don't know, apparently it's been broken since the beginning of time, and everyone just deals with it. I kind of like riding on it when I have time -- it's very interesting! I've met a few people thanks to the elevator!

And I seriously don't mind helping with the unpacking! I'm not an innocent

What does innocence have to do with

I'm quite experienced actually

That's generous of you. I actually don't have much furniture, it's mostly unorganized crap thrown in boxes at this point. I'll definitely call you in if I need backup. Also, if I suddenly disappear off the forums for a day or two, you might want to check in on me. Just in case I've trapped myself under an avalanche of nerdy junk.

Is anything else around here broken? I won't run across a washing machine that tries to take my arm off, will I?
