Progress Reports Characters: Alexander Moretti, Rachel Doyle, Morgan Parker Darke Setting: Moretti's Boardroom Content: Worksafe. Summary: A weekly staff meeting at the heart of Moretti's media empire.
Moretti normally liked these weekly meetings, the progress reports, the goals and directives for the next week. Monday morning was a time, he found, that most business foundered, employees recovered from the weekend, and no one did anything overly productive. His business was not like that. Lead by example, that was what he aimed for, and that was why, at 9:30am on a Monday morning, his executive team always gathered, coffee in hand, at his board room, and told him exactly what they were doing with his business.
"So," He began, smiling as they took their places, leaning back in his leather chair, the concoction of drugs he had just administered in his office already surging through his veins and chasing off the last lingering signs of exhaustion, the syringe disposed of already. It had been a week since he had slept, but he had no time for it, no time, not when everything was coming together so nicely. "Everyone had a good weekend? Everyone left it at the door? Good good." He smiled, looking around the table. "Tell me what's going on."
The acquisitions in China were going as well as he had expected, the Australians however were still kicking their heals over the negotiated figure. He had expected as much, but to have the report slid across the desk towards him meant at least that his staff were doing into depth.
It was very much the same story in other areas of the business, small successes which altogether proved the business was doing more than better than it's rivals, that small set-backs could easily be overcome.
"So, Rachel..." He said, turning to the lawyer, fingers curling around his coffee cup, enjoying the warmth of the china on his fingers. "Tell me how our little copy-right infringement case is doing. Any closer to settling out of court?" Alexander asked, giving her a wide smile, although his mind had begun to wander. Rachel was more than capable of handling the case, in fact she'd probably already given it to a less senior member of her team, and he hadn not need to worry about it. Instead, he worried over the personal plans he had for that evening, his evening with Aiden Adams.
