Hot take opinion: Addams Family is the best Halloween movie.

[Private to Christine]
What do you need to worry about if you're going to be pregnant over 40?

Addams Family is life goals.

[private]

...are you pregnant? And you got another doctor to give you that news?

I will hold back the envy and give you your answers: it depends. A pregnancy over 40 is considered high risk but that's more to do with your own health. High blood pressure, miscarriages, some birth defects (like Downs) all increase, but otherwise? I wouldn't be overly worried for you. Especially since your baby would be half-God and that's got to count for something.

I'm not pregnant. But Thor is on kind of a shore leave from kinging? He's off for the next few months and we talked about using this time to start a family. I have some work to try and get done and then yeah. I want to make sure I understand what to expect and can explain it Thor. We've both been through a lot with the leukemia, I don't want this to be harder than it needs to be.

...I didn't even know that was a thing. You live an interesting life.

If this something you're starting (congrats!), I would suggest pre-natal vitamins, cutting out alcohol and starting to get more rest. We can also do a full work up if you'd like to see how you are, health wise.

Those nanos did an amazing job though. I wouldn't be surprised if you got pregnant right away.

He is on shore leave. I'm still trying to get some kind if work done.

A check up would be good. I can't tell Thor something has gone wrong. I can't.

Supposedly Thor has some kind of fertility magic. I might wonder if it was an exaggeration (though things with Asgard usually aren't) except Sif mentioned it. She wouldn't lie or exaggerate. Also she used to want to marry him.

So many questions...

Nothing will go wrong. Especially since fertility god?! What?! Yeah, you're going to have triplets.

Let's just say if he wants to "swing the hammer" anywhere near me, I had better not.

Okay. I need to know. Does he call his penis a hammer?

Oh no. Thank goodness. That would be a little too freudian for me to handle.

I'm oddly disappointed.

Anyways, we can do this appointment sooner rather than later :)

People like Hocus Pocus, which I also like. Just not as much.

Are these films appropriate to show to children? Perhaps we will have a festive evening this week.

Kids love them. I don't know how much it helps to have a cultural familiarity to Haloween. But sure! That would be fun for the kids.

I will have to obtain them and watch them to see if the cultural references make sense, or whether they can be explained. It is quite likely the children will explain what the story means to me. I have my strengths and they have theirs.

Alas. I wish to exchange a heated opinion - if I am reading into that meaning correctly - but I have yet to fathom the purpose of Halloween or why it is but one night. We offered a toast or tale to celebrate our fallen at every feast.

I think Dia de Los Muertos is better at remembering those who have passed but that is a Mexican holiday. Halloween is more...making a cartoon of what scares us so for one night we're not afraid of our own mortality anymore.

I see. It is rather fascinating, the differences in cultures and how they relate to death and dying. I am in New York for a few days, and shall no doubt see some of the Halloween festivities.

I shall look into Dia de Los Muertos as well. Thank you, Jane.

The Addams Family is the first family of Halloween. Fact.

Funny enough there's no mention of Halloween in the film. It opens at Christmastime. The family dumps a cauldron on carolers. I'm too tired to analyze how much of that was part of the appeal.

Ha! It's appealing. No one who respects sleeping schedules likes carolers.

You doing ok, Jane? Maybe Bruce and I can cook up some nanobots with coffee injections.

Spoken like a true parent.

I think it was just a little bit of satisfaction of seeing something of Christmas get wrecked considering the list of movies set during Hanukkah is limited to one Adam Sandler thing.

I'm fine. Just trying to solve interdimensional space travel. The usual.

I think we've learned to sleep with one ear open, even after that universal fast forward.

Good point. Now if there was some way to combat the Christmas decorations going on sale before Halloween. Some places had displays out in July.

I'm the poster boy for overboard so I can't say anything like 'take it easy.'
