Who: Open Thread
What: House Warming Party
When/Where: March 1st in New Asgard

On the surface, it all looks like a perfect day for the party. Thor has ensured great weather, meaning even the backyard is set up with chairs, food and drinks -- and being an Asgardian party, there is no shortage of food or drinks. Actually, maybe be careful which ale you take. Some are for our ..hardier friends.

Someone has taken over the sound system, not sure who, but Spotify is playing some oldies, and if Peter was there, he'd greatly approve.

The hosts are mingling and walking around, smiling and pretending things are great. If you squint though, you might notice that they have somehow become experts at ignoring each other and not being in the same space.

For those that have cleared it before hand, there are bedrooms upstairs that you can use to sleep in. Otherwise, the hosts kindly ask that you remain downstairs.

Sif was glad to see Hope, both because Hope wasn't involved in New Asgardian gossip and because she very much enjoyed Hope's company. Her smile was broad and she extended a hand in greeting. "Hope! What a pleasure to see you here. This is your first time in New Asgard, isn't it? Perhaps before you leave I can steal you away for a bit to show you my own home. You're looking well today."

"Hey!" Or, well, she had already said that but whatever. She took Sif's hand and went in for the greeting hug too, and hopefully it wasn't too awkward or surprising. "It's my first time here, yeah. I've been curious about what it was like." People talked about it all the time but it wasn't like invitations to see firsthand what the village entailed were doled out all that often which - okay, she got that. Asgardians wanted some privacy, maybe? She couldn't blame them for that.

But if Sif was offering a tour, she'd definitely leap on that. "I'd love to be stolen," she grinned. "Whenever you want."

"My duties require me to remain here for the nonce. In New Asgard, I lead the royal guard, and I must be close by against some mischance, or an unsuspected attack. Bt when the party winds down, I can take you across the village to my home. There is guesting-room there and you can see my collection of armor and arms." From her tone, Sif meant the offer genuinely, and would be happy to host Hope, even if it wasn't an invitation to see her etchings. "And I can offer breakfast before you go back to New York. We're all prepared for our guests to stay the night."

Well, that sounded like a pretty sweet deal. "Yeah, if you're sure it won't put you out?" Hope hedged, even if she wasn't about to turn it down. At all. "Arms and breakfast though, I'm in. I can even return the favor next time you're in New York. I mean, for like - breakfast or something. Netflix."

She had studio apartment at the Tower so not a ton of space, but she'd make do and - slumber parties were fun? For Hope, it beat being alone all the time.

"Then it'll happen," Hope decided - yes, there, decision made. She'd ensure her place was all spic and span (wouldn't be difficult, given how small it was) and that she had enough food and adult beverages that were more like child beverages for someone of Sif's genetic makeup, and it would be great. Slumber party.

It also didn't hurt to hear that someone wanted to spend time with her - it kind of gave her warm and fuzzies, like her innards were made of chocolate chips. "Well, okay, so I'll just - grab a drink?" Maybe just a soda, she didn't want to be stumbling all over herself when she saw Sif's place, "...and then you let me know when you want to go for a tour?"
