Steve didn't share much of his personal life with many people. Nat had earned his trust which was why he shared this with her. The hug was appreciated and he made extra effort not to hug back too hard.

"Tony knows," he said. "Which means Pepper probably knows." He nodded at her suggestion. "That was the plan. I was thinking maybe while the fireworks were going."
