Natasha had already dug up all the info on the location for this party before she'd stepped foot on the island. Once she'd arrived, she'd done a slow walk around to make sure she had a good lay of the land. On her way toward some food and drink, she spotted Strange under a tree and wandered her way to him. "Have any magical shenanigans to contribute to the celebrations later?" she teased.

	He didn't doubt that someone like the Black Widow would not only know every in and out on the island, but have contingency plans in case of emergency. "But I will know and that'll make it more fun," she winked conspiratorially at him. Natasha wondered if it'd be a flashy display or something more subtle then. It was hard to tell some days which way Strange would lean. He was blunt to a fault and didn't partake in the pleasantries of the every day casually.

She gazed at the crowds around them. "It's amazing how giving people food and a distraction practically makes us invisible in the crowd."

It would be something the veterans could tell the grand-kids about, whether the vets were young or old. At the very least, they could wonder if there was some LSD in the punch. If there was one thing that a master of Eldritch Magic could manipulate, it was fire and light.

"It'll be our secret," Stephen said, with a conspiratorial wink back at Natasha. He looked around and had to admit, it was true. People were milling around in their own social circles for the most part. "Not a bad thing. For people who don't want to be noticed, at least."

"Yes, and we'll be noticing the other folks that don't want to be noticed." The ones that wanted to cause trouble. It'd be a fool's errand if anyone had those intentions here of all places. Between the vets and the superheroes, there wouldn't be much left to collect one the dust settled.

She hmmed to herself as she glanced at the large amount of pyrotechnics set up and ready to go for the show later that night. "I've been told I need to relax more. I'm not sure they understand that's not wired into my DNA."

"I don't think that relaxation is part of the job description," Stephen said with a sudden clipped laugh and a shake of his head.

He was keeping an eye on them himself, so he could begin casting spells as each set were lit. And to make sure that no one messed with any of them.

"I hear that all of the time. I'm a strong proponent of doing what needs to be done."

Simple as that.

"Tell that to everyone who keeps saying I need a vacation or to get a life," Natasha shot back. Between Steve and Sam and Clint in his better days, they were all wanting her to be normal. Normal was always going to be the last thing she would ever be.

"I'm sure even if I took one, I'd find trouble regardless. It comes with the territory after all." There was no off switch despite what people thought. Sure, they compartmentalized well, but why bother? Humans weren't meant to live shutting one part of their life off from the other anyway.

Normal was subjective. Even Stephen knew that, so he gave her a very knowing look indeed when she said that statement that every content and devoted workaholic despises hearing. It was usually better to maintain focus than get distracted. He even though Christine was a distraction, but they were so...non-relationship oriented...that it would never go beyond friends with itch scratching benefits.

"That might keep things interesting. Even if taking a vacation is a monumental waste of time." He thought about that. "If you need a quiet getaway for an hour or two, there's a few places on Earth that I could portal you to. Places where there isn't anyone for hundreds of miles, so trouble would have to veer out of its way to find you."

The least he could do was offer.

She laughed. "I can just imagine the looks on everyone's faces if I told them. They'd be asking if I had any ulterior motives about my vacation. They would be so confused."

She loved her job and what it had brought her over the years. She relaxed just as well as everyone around her. It wasn't her fault that a relationship wasn't something she was super interested in or cared about right now. She'd already had that go horribly wrong around the whole Ultron incident. She didn't need a repeat of that. These people were all her friends and it was probably best it stay that way.

Natasha tilted her head at the offer. It sounded boring and a waste of time, but it would probably be good for her. A learning opportunity on how to deal with a true opportunity to do nothing and encounter no one. "I may take you up on that. It'd get people off my back and present an opportunity I haven't encountered before."

Exactly why he did that same thing, to get away for one hour was a luxury. Otherwise, it was a constant stream of things happening or mystics passing through the Sanctum. Not that they couldn't find him or let him know if they needed him, but even Stephen needed to take an hour to meditate and breathe.

He could think of one of his favorite spots to gain that sort of clarity.

"There's a green plain in Mongolia," he told her, "where it's only the wind and earth, and your thoughts. Text me if you ever want to see it, or I can show you the doorways in the Sanctums leading to different ecosystems. Everyone needs some perspective, now and then. Might not be a bad idea."

He looked around.

"This is a bit...much."

"I wouldn't want to be an imposition, so I'd be grateful to see those doorways." That way Natasha could wander there on her own time without disrupting Strange in whatever he had going on at the time.

Now that she had an actual options to use for real vacation time, she was rather curious about going on an excursion sooner than later. People were exhausting and the nature of her job and her position, she dealt with nothing but people.

She arched an eyebrow and smiled. "Yes, but everyone loves an excuse to break out the party supplies and one up their neighbor in exuberance."

"It's the day for it," he replied in a dry tone of voice. There were other things he could be doing, but he was here to help with the fireworks. That she was here to see them was a good indication that everyone, even former Russian spies and Masters of the Mystic Arts, needed a day off. No matter how much they moaned about it.

"Stop by whenever you want. I'll show them to you." He smiled over at her like they had a fine conspiracy going there, and the secret was safe between them. "I'm going to see if I can't pre-cast a few spells into the fireworks while they aren't looking. It's been a pleasure, Natasha."

	She returned the smile and gave him a nod. Maybe now everyone would get off her back about taking a vacation and she'd feel less annoyed at the thought of one. She took enough time for herself in her opinion. "I look forward to a spectacular show later on and I'll shoot you a text when I get a chance to drop by. Thanks.
