Name: Rabastan Lestrange House: Slytherin Year (for 1975-1976): 6th Blood Status: Pureblood Birthday: February 2, 1959 Pet (if any): An snowy owl named Jaspar.
Physical Appearance: Rabastan has never been as good looking as his brother, in his honest opinion. Ever. In fact, he is a bit on the thin side, not having nearly the upper body strength as Rodolphus. He has light brown hair and blue eyes. He is 5'11", shorter than his brother, which he's used to. He doesn't dress as high class as most rich purebloods do. He doesn't flaunt his wealth, making it easier for him to blend in. He likes that, actually. He does keep himself well-groomed, of course. He takes great pride in his appearance, even though he feels inferior to his brother often.
Biography: As a child, Rabastan was always outshone by his brother. Rodolphus was better at just about anything. He tried not to let that get to him, though. He knew he, too, would be great. He just needed to work more at it. He was taught at home, since his family was extremely pureblooded and prejudiced against Muggles.
Rabastan knew he would be getting his Hogwarts letter, since his brother got it first. Rabastan had displayed small amounts of magical abilities, but was certainly outshined by his brother. He didn't mind so much, though, since Rodolphus was older and went to school for it. His parents bought him all the best things at Diagon Alley for his first year at school. It was still a special occasion. They had no doubt that their youngest boy would make them proud.
He was sorted into Slytherin, making his parents proud. The next thing they pushed for was that he be on the Quidditch team. It never happened. Rabastan was so interested in learning everything he could, he spent every Quidditch game in the library with a stack of books around him. In fact, people began to refer to him as the stack of books in the corner, rather than an actual person. He is on very good terms with Madame Pince. His parents, however, were disappointed. He was made prefect in his fifth year, but that was only because he didn't harass the muggleborns like the rest of his classmates. He had better things to do than waste his time on people who weren't worthy of it. If they wanted to catch his attention, they would have to earn it.
When his brother married Bellatrix Black, Rabastan was annoyed, though mostly due to the fact that he would no longer be receiving all of his brother's attention. He suppressed his feelings of anger toward her and has always been very pleasant, though not always thinking pleasant thoughts about her. He has even had fleeting thoughts of attempting to break them up. He has never acted on it, though.
Likes: Intelligence, Rodolphus, books, studying, dueling, Crucio curse, red wine, classical music, playing the piano, the library, languages, Bellatrix, sex.
Dislikes: Stupidity, muggles, killing people, pork, Quidditch, most people, Bellatrix, romance. There are a lot of things he doesn't really like, to be quite honest. He makes it known more often than not too.
Classes: Ancient Runes Arithmancy Defense Against The Dark Arts Potions Transfiguration
Extracurricular Activities: None. He prefers studying and sitting in the library during his free time. He doesn't even watch Quidditch games.
Romantic history: Rabastan has had a few girlfriends. None who lasted more than a week, though. He's interested in girls and will certainly drop things to give one his attention, but his interest often dissipates within the week. Rabastan prefers pretty girls, that's for sure, and he knows that he has the ability to charm them. He often prefers not to, though. He focuses mostly on his studies. However, he tends to be drawn to women that can compete with him. Not physically but mentally. Rabastan has always hated stupid, giggling girls. He prefers ones who can spar with him intellectually.
What was your character’s status before Dumbledore’s spell? Killing people, since he went rather crazy due to his time spent in Azkaban.
Current Students: Rabastan really just wanted to studying and prepare for his NEWTs next year. He does not have the motivation to keep his name famous, nor marry some rich, stupid woman to make pureblooded children. In fact, his parents are quite disappointed because they realize he will likely refuse any marriage they try to set him up in.
Writing Sample: This is an example from a game where I currently play Rabastan. If you would prefer a sample that is more suited for this specific game, I can whip one up no problem.
