It looks like we are once again taking in accounts for GreatestJournal. We are thrilled to have you here! We would like to point out that we do have the resources to take you in. And if the site continues to grow the way it has been then we will get even more resources as needed. We do have a plan in place to further expand the resources the site has. So you do not have to worry about us.

We do hope to win you over and have you host your journals, asylums (communities at other sites), roleplays, and fan fic here, we are also happy just to give you a place of refuge while GreatestJournal works out whatever issues they are having, and totally understand if you go back. We are really just happy to have all of our users here, temporary or permanent!

Also, I know there are a lot of people who are unhappy with the site design here on InsaneJournal. We are currently working on a new easier to use (and easier on the eyes) design that we hope to implement soon. Obviously we will get as much feedback as possible. In the meantime we have a number of older site layouts that you can use. To change to one of them go to http://www.insanejournal.com/manage/siteopts.bml
  • I'm not on GJ, so don't know what that layout looks like, but you might finds something at [info]nameless_layout or be able to ask for it there.

I used the Flexible Squares source code tutorial for my journal.
Really like the look of Flexible Squares, especially with a custom header and was quite happy when I found out I could make IJ give it to me. heh
    • I took a look at your journal..I like it. Thank you for the help and if I wasn't such an idiot..I'd be able to do it.
      • Thank you.

I was a bit worried about doing it, as I am certainly not very computer savvy, but it wasn't as difficult as I feared.

If you do try, just make sure you save the whole Layout Layer code [info]lilbreck provides. That's where I messed up the first time - didn't realise that the first pound symbol line was actually the start of it.
And then she links right to the page that you can add the layer code to.

When Flexible Squares layout is createdt, the Customize Journal is the next step, Look and Feel to choose that layout for your journal.

And then I go to Custom Options for all the colors and how everything is specifically arranged.
In the Custom style sheet section is where the code to put a header in goes.
Oh, damn. I kinda forgot - I'd find somewhere on LJ the CSS code that actually gives the info to put a header code in, but forgot where. I'd just copied it off my LJ customizations to put it here.

I can paste it here or email it if you want to have that.
