When and where does the principle of "Do No Harm" get taken over by practicality, and the wishes of your patient? I've done a LOT of experimental stuff that if it went wrong, absolutely would have harmed my patient, lost my very first while she bled out on my table because I'd done HER a lot of harm by convincing her to wait until I'd finished with my finals and...
Trust me, there are reasons I'm not close to you people and don't want to be. A good twenty percent of it has more to do with me than the eighty percent that means you're mostly boring sheeple.
But. Okay. Told a patient I could do something that'll help with their current situation, but means essentially stripping away one of their SENSES. That might or might not have been a mistake to do. Not because I can't, but it's putting them at a serious disadvantage for other stuff later in life.
Still...
You've got to take the risks or shouldn't bother being in medicine, don't you?
