Because Danica could drink like her life depended on it. Already on her fifth glass, the pitcher was nearly all gone!
Diana looked at Danica with a bittersweet smile for a moment. "I have 16 years worth of gifts to give you, plus the ones from this year." She said, setting them on a table off to the side. Asked a question by Kara, Diana turned to look at the blonde.
Danica glanced over at Kara for a moment, seeing that she had sunk in her chair. She wondered why.
"Let's see. I had her until the day before she was five..."
"21." Danica said, not wanting to get into the entirety of her life. Looking at her cup, she counted to five in her head before relaxing once more. Not having her mother when she was younger had served to make her angry...a lot. "I am 21."
Diana nodded, sitting down and taking a drink of her own cup. Which had actual wine. "She is 21." Grabbing the first gift, it was marked with a 5, she pushed it towards her only daughter. "This was to be yours on your fifth birthday..."
Danica picked it up, looking at Kara as if asking for permission before opening it. Inside she found a crescent moon and cradled in the crescent was a star, the necklace respectively crafted in gold and silver. "The moon and a morning star. A gift woven by the muses themselves."
