Who: Ginny Weasley and Hermione Granger
What: Hermione is quite upset and comes to see Ginny to vent
When: November 2nd, 1996. Saturday 11:55pm
Where: Ginny's Dorm

The day and night had been going so well. How had it ended up as total shite? They had won the match. Ron had done amazingly well as Keeper and had stopped shot after shot after shot. Well, when it really counted anyways. The party had just gotten going and then she looked over and saw Ron and Lavender's faces stuck together!

That was appalling and stomach churning. Ginny was more annoyed than she had expected but there was something worse. She saw Hermione's face as she watched Lavender trying to suck Ron's face off. She looked...crushed.

Hermione's apparent heartache made Ginny forget her own annoyance as she watched Hermione run off. She was about to follow her but then she saw that Harry was going after her. Ginny was then swept up by the cheering Gryffindors as they celebrated the victory.

When she could finally get away, Ginny wasn't able to find Hermione. Ginny left the party as things were starting to wind down to grab a shower. Once in bed, she found it impossible to sleep because she was worried about Hermione. In her flannel pj pants and a tank top, she crept upstairs to the sixth year dorms. Quietly, she opened the door and moved to Hermione's fourposter.

"Hermione?" she whispered softly.

Hermione had been super proud of the Gryffindor team. Harry was doing a great job at captain and even though she'd messed with McLaggen a bit to insure Ron's place on the team, he'd proven that he was quite capable of succeeding on the pitch. After congratulating the other members of the team and making certain Harry knew how proud she was of him, Hermione turned to find Ron. A night like this should definitely be celebrated with your best friends. Obviously Ron didn't feel that way. Instead of sharing this moment with his closest friends he was with her.

At first, Hermione had run out into the corridor and just walked. She'd walked until she simply couldn't walk anymore. Upon her arrival back at Gryffindor the celebration was still roaring. Without pulling attention to herself Hermione skirted the crowd and made her way up to the dorm. Not wanting anyone to hear her cry she cast a silencing charm around the four poster before closing the curtains.

By the time Ginny pushed back the curtain the emotional toll of the day's highs and lows had lulled her into a light sleep. If any other voice had played at the edges of her mind while in that state she might have jumped and immediately pulled her wand. None of her dorm mates ever moved to wake her when her curtains were closed.

"Ginny," she answered a bit groggily as she sat up and began working to remove the robe she still had on.

Hermione sounded awful. Ginny's heart sank. "Hi," she greeted her softly. Ducking inside, not wanting Hermione's roommates to see her, Ginny planned to hide in there.

Taking out her wand, she quietly incanted, "Lumos". The tip of her wand glowed very softly. Seeing Hermione still in her robe, Ginny frowned. Gently, she helped Hermione slide her arms free and took the robe. She folded it up neatly and set it at the foot of the bed.

Ginny sat in silence for a few minutes, unsure what to say. "He really is just brainless, you know," she offered, trying to console her friend. "I hope you really don't let it bother you."

Ron...what a bloody prat. She wanted to go give him a swift kick. She might have given it to her brother had he not been attached to Lavender at the lips all night! Ginny was annoyed he hurt Hermione with his cluelessness.

"Boys," Ginny sighed in disgust, hoping a bit of bloke bashing might help Hermione blow off some steam. "Did I tell you what Seamus did?" Ginny knew she didn't; Hermione had already left. "He groped my arse from behind and when I turned asked if I wanted a victory shag." She rolled her eyes.

"Hi," Hermione responded quietly to Ginny'd greeting while accepting her help with the robe. Knowing about the silencing charms she could have spoken in her regular voice but the moment seemed to call for something a bit more subdued.

With a sigh, she straightened herself up a bit and resigned to let Ginny fold her robe. Had anyone else attempted this she would have become defensive and insisted that she could handle herself. The saving grace for Ginny was the semblance of intimacy that developed as a result of sharing a room for many summers.

She was thankful for the silence. She moved over to the girl and laid her head on Ginny's shoulder the same as she would have if Harry had been here instead. When Ginny finally did speak, Hermione made a small noise of disbelief at his actions that seemed to emanate from her whole body.

When Ginny moved on to discuss Seamus Hermione lifted her head and gave shook it slightly in disbelief. "Why can't they just find a middle ground. They're either completely ignoring you or wanting to shag you to death." She turned to look Ginny in the face and added. "It would almost be easier to get along without them. A female would at least pretend to give a damn first."

Gently, Ginny slid her arm around Hermione's shoulder. Enjoying the closeness, she held her friend and hoped that it was making her feel better. The sound that left Hermione's lips when she started talking was pretty much what Ginny had expected.

Deciding Seamus was a safer topic, for now at least, Ginny chuckled. "Yeah, he was pretty persistent." She rolled her eyes and shook her head. "It's not like we don't have crazy hormones too but blokes really do need to get a grip," she agreed.

"It's not like the idea of a good snog without being in love is bad it's just..." She shrugged gently as Hermione was still leaning against her. "Like, who wants to jump into it without any lead up or anything, you know?"

Ginny grinned. "I think you're right but you might be surprised. I think there are girls who don't even pretend the give a damn." She paused to consider. "I think girls even do give a damn, more than blokes anyways, so there is that too."

"Too bad you don't fancy girls," Ginny teased gently. "Though, I think dating girls would have its own ups and downs," she added. "I mean, it seems like blokes are ready to tear their hair out sometimes. Though, that is probably their own fault!"

Ginny's arm around her shoulders was a great comfort. It was the kind of action Harry would have taken and it made Hermione feel loved and wanted. Not at all the way she felt lately when she looked or spoke with Ron.

"Why can't they just understand that most women need a bit of care and concern before they'll just give in." She gave a slight smile as she thought of Viktor. "Krum's like that. You wouldn't know it to look at him, but he's just a giant teddy bear." She gave a sigh of longing as she thought about his gentle touch.

She listened as Ginny spoke about the ways of females and relationships. She knew Ginny had dated more than she had, but her words alluded to the same thoughts Hermione had the other day but had bit back. "You don't fancy girls do you?" She asked her tone full of academic curiousness.

Ginny shrugged. "It's not like girls don't fancy a snog or whatnot from time to time and might even be quite anxious for it but you are totally right. Girls just need a bit more before jumping in," she agreed. "I hear blokes aren't like that once they get older. At least as much, anyways. But its cruddy we have to wait."

"That's good," Ginny said unenthusiastically. She felt a tin bit of jealousy but pushed it down. "I'm sure there are a few rare blokes out there like that but they are few and far between and I've never run into one."

Ginny was caught off guard by the question. She realized she shouldn't have been; there'd been little hints she'd been dropping for a while now. She shrugged. "Why would you ask that?" she asked, stalling for a bit of time to think about how she should answer or even she should answer at all.

Hermione turned her head to look at her friend and cocked it to the side. "Vying for Charlie and I again?" she teased when Ginny pointed out that older blokes were more into making a girl feel good than their younger counterparts.

When Ginny questioned her about why she wanted to know about whether or not she fancied girls Hermione shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know. It's just the other night you seemed really interested in Parvati and Lavender." If Hermione was honest with herself she'd admit she'd actually stayed awake last night to hear if the two girls went to each other, but she wasn't ready to do that.

"Now you've alluded that perhaps things would go better if I changed my focus to the fairer sex?" She reached up and ran a hand through her hair and thought back to how easily girls could connect through something as simple as brushing each other's hair. Hell, she'd caressed Ginny's locks just last night. "So I ask again, are there any girls you fancy?"

Ginny chuckled and stuck her tongue out at Hermione. "But sure. Why not?" she joked back. "I bet he is a thousand times more attentive and with it than the blokes here. I'd date him if he wasn't my brother!" she joked, though she wrinkled her nose a the thought. Breaking into a laugh, she found it funny that she grossed herself out with her own joke.

"Well, it was a bit of gossip," Ginny answered. "It was interesting and intriguing." She wasn't sure how much she should admit. She paused for a moment. "Plus, it's pretty uncommon around here so it made me curious."

Her cheeks turned pink and she shrugged. "Well, girls get crushes, right?" she offered in answer. Crushes that weren't really sexual were common with girls in such close proximity. However, Ginny felt a little evasive and deceitful because of her answer. "I guess I've been curious about what that would be like."

"I wouldn't say I fancy anyone. But, I guess I've thought about a few people."

"Have you ever thought about anything like that?" Ginny asked shyly.

"If that's the case then how is he the only one of the Weasley boys I've never seen with a girlfriend?" Even Percy had held the attention of a female for a good while to the surprise of the lot of them. "Maybe he's just waiting around on you," Hermione added to the teasing.

"It is," Hermione admitted to the fact that it was uncommon gossip. While waiting for Ginny to continue commenting, Hermione reached up and took Ginny's hand in her own so she could lower her friend's arm from her shoulders. While she did so, Hermione noted the smoothness of Ginny's hand. She'd felt the touch of her friend before, but now she compared it to the roughness of Viktor's hands since that was her only real experience to this point.

She dropped Ginny's hand and moved away a bit. It was a complicated subject and Hermione had noticed the slight blush and the tone of the other girl's voice. Perhaps it would be easier to discuss if they weren't in too close a proximity.

"Of course girls get crushes, but how often are they on other girls?" She'd never really thought of any female other than Ginny as anything more than an acquaintance so for her the topic was null and void. "That's more than I've done. I don't even talk to any females outside of academic pursuits other than you."

Ginny laughed. "Oh, he has them it's just for a much shorter time. Can you fault a bloke for being in demand?" she joked, though her little bit of hero worship for her older brother came through. "I'll be sure to wait for him." Ginny wrinkled her nose again.

The feel of her hand in Hermione's was distracting. The gentle touch brought goose bumps to the rest of her. Hermione's response didn't really sink in before Ginny felt a pang of disappointment that Hermione was moving away.

She hoped that she wasn't freaking her friend out.

"I don't mean on blokes. But girls get fixated on other girls they think are cool and want to be friends with, right?" She paused for a moment and looked at Hermione to see if she seemed to agree. It was clear that Hermione hadn't had the experience but Ginny figured she would take her word for it. "Well, I've had a few of those but a few times they made me wonder about things with another girl," she confessed.

"I might have even...kissing another girl." Ginny chewed her bottom lip nervously as she watched Hermione. A moment later, she shrugged trying to appear nonchalant.

What Ginny said about Charlie definitely made sense. Maybe Ron was trying his best to imitate his older brother. After all, Hermione was safe and familiar. Maybe he just wanted something new and exciting. Something that he'd never experienced before, like what Ginny had just told her.

Hermione's move away from Ginny had been purely innocent, or was it? Somewhere deep down, just maybe, it hadn't really been Ron that Hermione had been focused on all these years. Could it possibly be that the reason she didn't have many female friends was because she only wanted one? The one that was sitting now in her bed close enough to touch.

"What's it like?" she asked her eyes fixated on Ginny's mouth. Hermione didn't miss the way Ginny's teeth lightly pulled at her lip. It was the same type of response Hermione herself had the first time she'd realized she wanted to kiss Viktor. Subconsciously the tip of her own tongue broke the seal between her lips to wet them slightly in preparation of a kiss Hermione wasn't even aware she wanted.

Ginny shrugged unable to find words at first. "It was nice. Soft. Sweet. At first, anyways. It isn't like kissing blokes. They are too enthusiastic and aggressive. Parvati..." Ginny hadn't realized she said the name for a moment but stopped immediately once she had. Her eyes were wide and she couldn't believe what she had done.

Now that it was out, Ginny felt like she might as well explain. "It started after one of the Quidditch games. Parvati came up to me and we started to talking about Seamus. She had a crush on him." She smiled and laughed. "I think it didn't have much to do with him but we started talking about snogging and how she didn't really know what to do and she needed practice. So..." She trialed off, sure Hermione knew what happened next.

"It is fun and really...it is much better than kissing boys, I think," Ginny confessed. She wondered if she should tell Hermione more about her and Hermione. However, seeing Hermione's tongue dart over her lips, Ginny suddenly lost her train of thought.

Hermnione listened intently as Ginny spoke about the difference between kissing a girl and kissing a boy. The words that were used fell into the stereotypical view of each sex. After having witnessed what she had between Parvati and Lavender it didn't come as any surprise when Ginny said the other girl's name. "It's not like her kissing girls is a secret," she chuckled. "What I want to know is why you didn't tell me about it sooner." After all Hermione knew all about the blokes in Ginny's life.

She reached out and placed a hand on Ginny's knee as the explanation flowed from her lips. "You didn't have to explain," she shrugged. "What I don't understand is what made you suddenly want to kiss a girl." So Hermione was lying right now at this moment sitting alone with Ginny talking about kisses and focusing on her lips, she knew what would make a girl want to kiss another girl. It was the same as what made you want to kiss a bloke, the curiosity of what it would be like to be even closer.

She leaned forward just slightly her hand lightly pressing on Ginny's leg as she did so. "I wouldn't know," she stated honestly her voice conveying a yearning that her words did not express.

"It's not?" Ginny asked. She supposed that it wasn't to Hermione now that she had caught Lavender and Parvati kissing. But she had to wonder if there was something more than that. Had Hermione seen or heard other things about Parvati?

Hermione's hand on her knee made her squirm lightly but she managed to get it under control quickly. "Oh," she breathed out with a light chuckle. She shrugged and paused before answering. "I'm not sure it was sudden even though it came up suddenly," she tried to explain. "I guess I thought about it from time to time. Just like I did with blokes. It just popped into my mind and I was curious."

"It just wasn't something that I could find a way to talk about it since I really didn't quite...know how to explain in."

Ginny chewed her lower lip again. "Do...you want to?" she asked softly. "It sounds like...you might?"

Hermione only knew what she'd seen with her own eyes that one time. It wasn't as if she made a habit of keeping up with who was snogging whom. Therefore, she left Ginny with only what she had said earlier on the subject.

Ginny's explanation fit Hermione's sudden feelings perfectly. She lightly nodded her head as the other girl spoke about how it had just seemed to fall naturally into place. When Ginny asked Hermione point blank if she wanted to kiss she didn't know how to answer.

"Um, I don't know," she moved her hand off Ginny's knee and ran it through her own hair. She didn't want to force Ginny into anything. "Do you?"

Ginny didn't take Hermione pulling her hand away as a very good sign. She regarded her in silence for a few moments. She was about to speak but instead her teeth found her lower lip and she worried it lightly.

"Well, it can be a lot of fun and there is nothing like kissing a pretty girl," Ginny admitted. She fancied Hermione for so long, she was dying to kiss her. However, she wasn't quite ready to admit that yet.

"Does that mean you could see dating me?" Ginny joked, trying to ease the tension.

If Hermione knew that Ginny had thought numerous times about kissing her then Hermione would have easily given into her curiosity. She also picked up on the tension that seemed to be growing between the two girls. She chuckled nervously at Ginny's question and twirled the end of her hair.

"Well, you are the prettiest of the Weasleys," she replied not even daring to venture that Ginny might be calling her pretty. If there was one thing Hermione didn't see herself as it was a beauty. Her hair was always messy and she rarely too the time to think about beauty charms or use any of the beauty potions her dorm mates were fond of.

Ginny blushed. She hadn't been prepared for a compliment. "Thanks," she replied a little sheepishly. "I think it might be the Quidditch player part of me that makes you say that," she joked lightly.

"I've thought about kissing you before," Ginny confessed as she looked at Hermione. Reaching up slowly and tentaively ran her hand over Hermione's curls. "I would start like this then thread my fingers in your hair..." She slid her hand around the back of Hermione's head and toyed with her hair.

"And lean in..." Ginny's eyes slowly shut as she moved forward ever-so-slowly and sought Hermione's lips with her own. Her heart hammered loudly in her ears as she tried to calm her nerves.

Before Hermione could respond to Ginny's quip, the girl reached out and ran a hand through her hair. Her breath hitched as a tingle went through her spine and down her back. She inhaled deeply and closed her eyes which helped intensify the effect. When she did so, there was no telling the difference between the touch of a man versus the touch of woman.

"Ginny," she whispered just before the other girl's lips found hers. Instinctively she reached out for the one kissing her. The academic part of her brain kicked in and she began to compare the kiss to one of Viktor's. The touch was definitely more gentle, less insistant and more exploring than Hermione's previous experience. Tentively she parted her own lips and returned the kiss.

Hearing Hermione whisper her name sent a shiver through Ginny. As there lips were already touching, Ginny murmured softly against them in response to her name.

Lingering there and kissing her softly for a few moments, Ginny seized the moment when Hermione's lips parted. Drawing her lips first over Hermione's lower lip, then her upper lip, she then flicked her tongue lightly before pulling back.

Her eyes opened and she looked at Hermione before smiling. "See?" she prompted playfully. "Pretty nice, right?"

Ginny's slight murmur added a tingle to the kiss that caused Hermione to give a contented sigh. The kiss was comfortable and strikingly different from the way Viktor had kissed her. Ginny had been correct in her statement that a girl's kiss felt gentler, nicer.

When Ginny pulled back a whimper of protest passed between Hermione's lips. Immediately her hand flew to her lips in an act of disbelief. "Definitely different," she said.

Despite what she had told Hermione earlier about kissing girls, Ginny had fought to keep is soft and sweet. She'd been quite tempted to kiss her deeply and snog Hermione until she was breathless. Ginny knew it wouldn't be a good idea kissing her for the first time but Merlin had she been tempted!

The whimper was good and Ginny was just about to lean in and kiss her again then Hermione's hand flew to cover her mouth. A little nervous, she regarded her friend. "Are you all right?" she asked gently.

She really hoped that Hermione didn't regret what they had just done. Reaching out, she gently laid her hand on Hermione's knee and stroked lightly.

Hermione hadn't wanted the kiss to end. Moving her hand to her mouth was a way of trying to hold the kiss there when Ginny retreated. The little taste had been like a Fortescue's new flavor sample. It left Hermione wanting more.

When Ginny asked if she was alright she lowered her hand and gave a simple nod. Her hand made it's way to lay on the one Ginny had placed on her knee. "I'm fine," she gave the other girl's had a little squeeze. Suddenly she wished that the kiss hadn't been just a demonstration. "Thank-you," she added flicking her tongue quickly over her lips.

Ginny found herself staring at her friend. She loved the feel of Hermione's hand on hers. She squirmed lightly as the tension between them became almost unbearable. "Good," Ginny breathed. Reaching up, she gently placed a finger under Hermione's chin and guided her to look up.

"That means you won't mind when I do...this..." Leaning in, she lightly pressed her lips to Hermione's. Teasingly, she flicked her tongue against Hermione's upper lip as she withdrew.

Placing her hands on Hermione's shoulders, she tried to guide her to lay back on the bed. Glancing at the curtains, she made sure they were still tightly closed. Getting up on her knees, Ginny tried to move so she was on her hands and knees over Hermione.

When Ginny lifted her chin Hermione felt a shiver of anticipation run through her body. Her mind raced with assurances that this was all academic. Simple research, nothing more. Her hand gave another light squeeze as if to say she was fine.

Before she could respond again Ginny's lips were on hers. Again it lasted for only a few moments. Was this what boys meant when they said girls were nothing but teases? Though she didn't have to wonder long as Ginny's guidance was unmistakable. It was the same sort of move she'd seen blokes make with the girls on the couches. It meant she was moving in for a better snogging position.

She took the cue and leaned back, making sure she pulled her legs up under herself as she did so. Leaning on her elbows a smile played on her face. "Why Miss Weasley I do think you intend to take advantage of me." It was the same type of quip she'd given to Viktor every time he'd been more persuasive.

Ginny smiled as Hermione so willingly slid into the position she wanted her in. Well, almost. It was hard to lie atop her when she was propped up on her elbows! Moving so that one knee was on the bed between Hermione's legs, Ginny kept smiling for a few moments before shrugging coyly.

"I don't know, Miss Granger," she responded playfully but softly in case her roommates had come back. "You are certainly hot enough to want to do that to," she said, happy to compliment her friend like she'd wanted to for so long. "Plus, kissing you is..." Ginny chewed her bottom lip and blew out a breath letting her expression speak instead of words.

Leaning in, she ghosted her lips over Hermione's. "I think I want to kiss you more," she confessed in a breathy tone meant to tickle her lips and entice Hermione.

Hermione's breath caught as Ginny positioned herself above her. This wasn't the way things were supposed to be. Ron should have been the one hovering over her, shouldn't he have? But Ron had never told her she was beautiful, never once had he kissed her, never once had he made her feel the chills that Ginny was producing.

She blushed at the compliment and moved to tuck her hands under her head, hair splaying out as she did so to cover her arms. As she moved Ginny lowered her lips just barely onto Hermione's. The feel of her breath sending goosebumps along her skin. "I think I want you to kiss me more," she whispered.

"Making yourself comfortable?" Ginny cooed as Hermione tucked her hands away beneath her head. She grinned assuming that Hermione was making herself comfortable to stay for a bit.

"Good, it'd be hard to resist being in this position." Planting her lips to Hermione's, Ginny kissed her a bit more insistently that before. Her lips parted and her tongue gently sought Hermione's as they kissed.

Wanting the kiss to last, Ginny slowly let more of her weight settle on Hermione as she eased herself down. The way her breasts pressed against Hermione's caused Ginny to moan enthusiastically. Unlike blokes she had been with, Ginny didn't press herself insistently against Hermione. Instead, she just let the subtle movements from kissing rub her body lightly against Hermione's.

This time, she wasn't going to be the one to break the kiss.

"It is my bed," Hermione stated matter of factly. This time when Ginny moved in to kiss her she rose her own head to meet her. Sliding her hands out she wrapped her arms around Ginny because that seemed to be the best thing to do to keep them out of the way.

When Ginny's tongue brushed her lips, Hermione opened her mouth just enough to allow the other girl's tongue to enter her mouth. The moan that vibrated against her lips caused a whimper of delight to escape as her hands slid to rest on the small of Ginny's back.

Hermione's hands pressed against Ginny as suppressed need coursed through her body. Her own tongue began to search frantically for Ginny's as she gave in to the sensations that were taking over her brain.

Ginny felt her heart skip a beat as Hermione let her deepen the kiss. The sounds escaping her friend curled Ginny's toes they were so bloody hot. Whimpering back, Ginny kept kissing her.

She squirmed as Hermione's hands pressed against her. Ginny was thankful she was using hers to prop herself up because if she wasn't she would surely be suffering from a case of wandering hands!

She lost track of time as she worked her lips over Hermione's and her tongue toyed with hers. Pressing herself against Hermione more firmly, the leg between Hermione's pressed at the apex of her thighs gently.

Hermione lost herself in the kiss. The way Ginny's hair brushed against her cheeks as their lips continued to caress just added to the shivers coursing through her body.

She would have been content to just enjoy the kisses and the weight that Ginny was allowing to press against her. Suddenly, she felt Ginny pressing against her in almost the same manner as Viktor when he wanted to test the limits to which Hermione would allow hiim to wander.

Her hands moved to Ginny's hips and she pressed her head back against the pillow as she gently urged the other girl to break the kiss. "My dorm mates will be back soon." She placed her hands on the bed and began to pull herself out from under the last person in the world she'd ever pictured herself snogging.

Ginny was lost in the kiss and the feel of her bodies against Hermione's. She had to fight to keep her squirming under control. She'd wanted this for so long and Hermione was filling her senses; her sounds, her scent were intoxicating.

Then...she was pulling away.

Ginny blinked as she regarded her friend. Merlin, it looked like Hermione was nervous again or even spooked. She instantly felt terribly guilty and disappointed. She wanted to say she was sorry but the words died on her lips.

What should she do? Ginny really didn't know.

"Well," she began a little sheepishly. "It's not like I've never been up visiting before. I don't think they would think anything about it." She regarded Hermione for a moment. "We could just lay here and talk like we do normally?" she offered, hoping that things weren't going to be weird between them now.

"But, if you are tired, I can go back down to me room. It's okay." She gave Hermione a small smile, hoping that wasn't the option her friend would choose.

Hermione treated the situation the same way she had whenever she'd pulled away from Viktor. Reaching up, she brushed Ginny's cheek with the back of her hand to show that it was something within her and not necessarily something Ginny did.

"I know you're in here all the time," she gave a small smile and added, "but there's usually giggling not moaning coming from behind the curtains." True enough they could cast a silencing charm but that would look even more suspicious once Ginny emerged to return to her own bed for the night. Unless of course, she wanted to stay and leave in the morning. It would be easy enough get her out past the others since tomorrow wasn't a school day.

"That's entirely up to you," she added then searched Ginny's face while she awaited the decision.

Hermione's gentle touch was a little confusing. She seemed a little nervous still but Ginny didn't really know why. Was Hermione really worried about her roommates coming back or was it something else? It felt like it might be something else but she wasn't sure.

Though, she felt a little better when Hermione joked with her. "Oh? Was there moaning?" she asked a little coyly. "I wonder why that was?" she mused, hoping to coax a response out of her friend.

"Well, I always like to stay with you. I can try to be good," she told Hermione. "Even though I really had fun with kissing you," Ginny confessed. She was really hoping they would do it again but she was afraid to press in the slightest.

Moving to lay beside Hermione's, Ginny's hip lightly touched Hermione's. Normally, this wouldn't be something Ginny was likely to notice. But, Ginny usually hadn't made out with Hermione for a bit before such innocent touching!

It wasn't that Hermione wanted to break the connection between Ginny and herself, she simply didn't know how or if she wanted things to progress. She'd never been one to get too carried away in a good snog. Kissing and over the clothes touching was as far as she'd ever gone. She was certain just from the way Ginny had been able to take control of the situation that she had and wasn't sure exactly how far the other girl would want to take things.

"Um, yeah, there was," Hermione blushed a little now that she was able to reflect on the situation. This was rather odd. Hermione had never fancied herself to be the type of girl that would just snog someone for the hell of it. She wanted to be vested in whatever she found herself doing whether it was researching something for Harry or moving into some sort of relationship. Hermione knew boys were apt to snog on the run which is why she never really allowed them to use her. Had she allowed Ginny to just do what she so desperately had been working to avoid?

Hermione propped herself up on her elbow so she could look at Ginny. "You know I'm always happy to have you around." She looked down and played with a loose piece of string on the fringe of her pillow case. "Have you been trying to be good for awhile?" she asked trying to figure out exactly what had just transpired between them. "Because I don't know if I want you to anymore. I had fun too."

Ginny cast a look out of the corner of her eye at Hermione. She couldn't help but grin like the cat who'd just eaten the canary. Who knew that if they just kissed that Hermione would have been such an enthusiastic participant? Why the bloody hell had Ginny waited so long?!

Glad she admitted to the moaning, Ginny wondered how she could get Hermione to say more. It was a thrill that they had both gotten a bit antsy from the snogging. Though she was still a little afraid she had gone too far and too fast.

Her cheeks tinted pink at Hermione's question. Had it been that obvious? She paused and chewed her bottom lip. "A little while," she confessed. "Once you started to like it...then really like it...that's when it got hard." She turned to look at Hermione. "At least, it really seemed like you liked it?"

"You...don't?" she asked, a little surprised. Ginny paused. "Well, we don't need to rush anything but...that could really fun," she said, trying not to seem overly enthusiastic.
