Who: Elise Rosier and Hermione Granger
What: Elise and Hermione are paired for a class assignment.
When: Monday. September 8th, 1991. Start of trio's 6th year.
Where: Transfiguration Classroom
Rating: Who knows?
Elise Rosier felt uncomfortable in her new Hogwarts uniform. It had been awkward to stand with a gaggle of eleven year olds to be sorted at the start of the year. Elise, not one prone to shyness despite her acting otherwise, had been extremely uncomfortable. Thankfully, her twin had been at her side. She would have had no idea what she would have done without Emma.
The school year was a week old and Elise had already heard many, many hushed conversations that had not been hushed enough for her not to pick up what they were discussing. The outlandish things, many of which would have landed her in Azkaban, made Elise giggle secretly.
In her crisp tie and robe, Elise entered the Transfiguration classroom. She noticed everyone looking at her and a few whispered back and forth. Looking down shyly, Elise pretended to be bothered by it as she made her way to a free seat.
Settling in, Elise waited for class to begin. Looking down at her uniform, she frowned. It felt like she was wearing a sack compared to her formfitting Beauxbatons uniform.
"Class," Professor McGonagall began as she tapped her wand on her desk to get their attention. "We will be pairing off into groups I will assign for a project," she instructed and was met with a chorus of groans that the elderly witch ignored.
"You will be picking a subclass of Transfiguration," McGonagall informed them. "Once you have, you will need to demonstrate a series of spells and write an essay about their uses. You will be working on this all week and it will be your only homework assignment as well. Therefore, I expect your projects to be robust. Am I making my self clear?" she asked, a hint of her Scottish brogue coming through. The students muttered and nodded.
McGonagall began rattling off names. Since she didn't know any of them, Elise really wasn't listening. "Hermione Granger and Elise Rosier," McGonagall announced, gesturing to a table at the front.
Elise stood and saw the other girl. She smiled sweetly as she sat. "Allo," she greeted Hermione, her French accent coloring the greeting. "I am Elise," she introduced herself.
She had seen the girl about before. Hermione was hard not to notice. However, she was in the house that the Slytherins saw as their sworn enemies. Not the best way for Elise to fit in with her house to just approach her. Luckily, she had an excuse now…
