'The Feast' Day 3

The day dawned bright and clear, a sunrise as pure as the Maiden herself gracing the world and revealing the hideous damages of the night before. Streets were littered with roof tiles, shutters, bits of wood and debris. Throughout the city there were houses and businesses all but destroyed by the fury of the storm and the docks were a mess. Three ships had caught fire and sunk, taking most of their crew with them, while a fourth had burned only partially before its crew had managed to put out the flames. A Pentoshi merchant ship had sailed into the harbor just before dawn, heavy with cargo from the Free Cities and Ashai but unscathed by the storm it had just sailed through.

In the merchants’ quarter another fire had claimed a street of businesses, including several very popular dressmakers- Mistress Vaynya Forel's (Lady Tyrell’s favorite) and Mistress Sena Westlyn's (the Queen’s chosen) among them.

At the Red Keep, the Princess Gwyn remained asleep and constantly attended to after falling into a swoon in the Godswood. Her fever remained unbroken and the Maesters remained uncertain what malady had taken her.

Meanwhile, a Great Hunt was set to ride out mid-morning, led by the king himself but many wondered whether it would actually take place. The King’s Hand had spent the early morning hours dealing with the effects of the storm, and declared that nothing had been sufficiently serious to warrant a delay in the festivities, though of course King William would have final say in the matter.
