“Have a good night Mr. Osboron.”
Harry gave a smile and nod to the security person behind the desk in the lobby of OsCorp and then moved swiftly across the lobby to the doors. He had meant to call for a car, but had gotten caught up answering emails and lost track of time. He had a dinner reservation tonight and by the time he called the car, and the car fought its way through traffic – well by that time he could have walked back to his place. And besides, the exercise was good, he could feel yet another headache building up behind his eyes, some fresh air and a brisk walk might help right things.
Exiting the building, he paused for a moment to glance up, a genuine, fond smile spreading across his face as he took in the building that housed OsCorp. Harry hadn’t ever thought that he’d be happy to be here but- he was. He really was. Or he was right now, because in this moment everything was going right. Tucking his hands into the pocket of his coat, Harry started off at a brisk walk down the sidewalk, not aware that someone was shadowing his steps.
Harry didn’t normally really have to deal with the press outside of scheduled press conferences for the company, and the occasional query that got filtered through the people he paid to handle questions from the press. He just – he wasn’t that interesting for the most part. OsCorp was making money right now, but it wasn’t doing anything really flashy or exciting, so even his company wasn’t getting much press. That wasn’t ideal, but Harry had people working on projects that would hopefully generate some positive buzz about OsCorp.
There was however a reporter who had been rather .. .persistent of late in trying to get a few words from “the younger Osborn” about his father. So far Harry had brushed off the requests, or rather had his people brush them off for him. He didn’t talk about Norman, and he especially didn’t talk about Norman to the press, when that press was just looking for dirt on his family. The Osborn family skeletons were, as far as Harry was concerned staying firmly in their closets.
“Excuse me, hey, wait up!” Harry heard the voice, couldn’t imagine the person was addressing him and just kept on walking. “Hey, - wait – Mr. Osborn!” Well. That was harder to ignore, and Harry turned around to look behind him, just in time to see a phone raised up towards him. “It’s Harry Osborn right? Going out for a walk? How about I walk with you for bit, we can have a bit of a chat, see I had a question about your father –“
Harry felt the pain in his head increase and he shook his head and turned away deciding going on “ignore” mode would work best. But yet –“Sorry, don’t have anything to say about that subject.” He called that back over his shoulder, going for genial but not sure if it actually came across that way.
“Nothing to say about your father? Really? Well how about yourself, your ahh – European vacation maybe? That was paid for with your fathers money wasn’t it? Makes sense, one can assume family issues lead you to need to spend some time in an expensive rehabilitation center in-“
Spinning around on his heel, Harry took a step towards the reporter; “I said,” and now he was not going for genial he was going for harsh and a tone that would shut this conversation down. “I don’t have anything to say about that subject. I think that’s been made perfectly clear to you.” Feeling his point was made, he turned to go, only to have the reporter call back at him;
“So no comment, all right. That’s fair, I’ll just write what I know then about your father. You can read about it when the article comes out. “ Louder than; “Thanks for your time there Harry, I think you’re really going to enjoy the article about the Osborn Family!”
