Who: Terrence and Ella.
What: Silly, innocent, drama-free fun. Er, with drinking. Apparently.
When: Sunday afternoon.
Where: Ella's room.
Warnings: Penis jokes, again. And holding hands. HOW RISQUE.
There were good reasons why Terrence had never really dated anyone. Not because he had issues with commitment, or confronting his own feelings. It was the way other people failed to deal with the way they felt or what they wanted that really bothered him. Other people's feelings were their own damn messes to clean up.
Zach meant a lot to him, so obviously Terrence made exceptions for him. It didn't mean he liked the problems themselves any better, but making things work out was important. Terrence was hardly going to try to fix any of it himself, but he'd been there for Zach as much as he could, to listen and to keep him company. It wore on him, though, mostly because he couldn't simply snap his fingers or wave his wand and make everything easier for Z. He thought that Tracey was awesome, but Merlin, he was a little bit glad he'd dodged that hex, so to speak. From the way all of this had gone down, Terrence didn't particularly want to be the person she liked enough to shag, even though he'd have been all in favor of that at the pool party.
Despite wanting to be a good friend, it was tiring, and he found himself wanting a break from the emotional lives of the people he cared about. He rather felt that he had earned it, honestly. And the best way he knew to distract himself was to see someone who never bothered with the kinds of things that bogged normal people down - Ella, of course.
That was why, on Sunday afternoon, he found himself knocking on her door. It was a much more appropriate hour than the last time he'd been here, and he hoped he'd find her in a decent state of dress. Much as he liked Ella, he didn't really need to deal with any of his own girl problems at the moment. He really just wanted a game of Exploding Snap and a good dose of her wicked, random humor. And, alright, he also kind of wanted a drink, but he wasn't sure he should trust himself around Ella when he was buzzed. He wouldn't have turned one down if it was offered, though.
