He didn't want to do this. The last thing Harry wanted to do was to let Draco Malfoy into his head. Which, he supposed, was sort of the point; if he'd wanted Malfoy in there, the lessons would hardly work. The idea was not to let him see the truth, to feed him lies. A fake persona. Someone Harry couldn't possibly be any less like. He supposed Draco wanted to be in there about as much as Harry wanted him there, if he were perfectly honest. But Draco Malfoy's desires were taking the back burner: Harry honestly couldn't be arsed to care. Not when so much was at stake.
Harry had been procrastinating his departure for a while (and had started getting ready to leave early as insurance, knowing that he would be procrastinating like this), he'd run out of things to do: the dishes were done, he'd stopped by Katie's to make sure that Fern was watered and had been engaged in breathtaking conversation... Which meant that all too soon, he was stepping out of the fireplace at Malfoy's.
"Hey." Even though he had been practicing putting memories into boxes, shoving others in front of them as decoys and been practicing tweaking them at a moment's notice, Harry was definitely not looking forward to this; Malfoy could always find a way to poke holes into Harry's hard work and that wasn't about to end today. Though he hoped he might be some sort of memory-altering prodigy, the odds of that were so unbelievably slim that one way or another, he was going to leave here with both himself and Malfoy disappointed in him.
