When Millicent was sent home from work on Friday she had been told an owl would arrive to tell her of their new location. Anyone who helped moving the sooty remains from the no-longer-a-crime-scene that was their former offices would be rewarded. Apparently.
This was a very good thing indeed, because nothing in this entire fucking could make her excited about walking into the Ministry every morning. There was something very wrong about that. Wasn't newspapers supposed to be unbiased? How the hell was that even possible, when they sat in the lap of the Ministry? And not just figuratively either.
Millicent was late when she showed up. Very late. Most of the stuff had been moved already, and she basically only had to sort through the crap lumped on the desk that was now hers before, well, the reward was handed to her.
She was halfway through the pile when something remarkably uncharred caught her eye. A picture of somebody she vaguely recognised. No, not a picture. A pamphlet. A pamphlet detailing exactly what was wrong with her, how it could be cured and with several images, pointing out what A Homosexual looked like. Some faces she recognised. Some she didn't.
The date in the corner stated April. Four months ago. This had been going on for four months.
Millicent turned around, grabbed the first person that walked by and thrust the pamphlet at them. "What the fuck is this?" she demanded. "Why didn't anybody tell me about this?"
