Millicent had a point, a horrible logical point that burned a hole in Romilda's gut. She didn't want to listen to logic and reason when it could cost her everything she'd ever worked for. Why had she stopped to listen to Bulstrode this morning? Why couldn't the other girl have continued her campaign of sneering her way through the workday?
"Shut up, shut up!" she hissed as she tried to shut her ears. If she couldn't hear those horrible words then they wouldn't matter. Romilda could go on pretending for just a little longer.
Taking matters into her own hand, Romilda reached out and dragged Millicent into the kitchen towards the source of caffeine. She couldn't do this conversation on an empty bloodstream. And perhaps, just perhaps, giving Millicent something to hold would quell her tongue.
"You call me Romilda again people are going to talk."
