Hermione knew that there would be fall out against Harry when He told her that he was going to speak against the Ministry. She had been prepared to defend him against an onslaught of slander, including the Ministry accusing him of being responsible for the attacks of which Nigel had already confessed. But, on her lunch break, she’d managed to pick up a copy of the Prophet only to find her name smeared across the page. Hermione Granger (suspected Terrorist 091979-GRA-J-99) kidnapped Auror Harry J. Potter likely with the help of the Imperious curse. It had only gotten worse when she’d opened the journals and saw things like what Vane had written. She’d wanted to leave work early, should the Ministry come (her parents really need not be part of this mess) but her parents, realizing how frazzled she was insisted that she stay with them in the office instead of leaving. Eventually though, the office closed and she was able to sneak out from the worried glances of her parents.
Hermione made one stop at the store to pick up some dinner for Harry and herself, as well as a bottle of wine. She didn’t often drink, but she felt like if it were ever appropriate today would be the day. For all she knew she would arrive home to find her flat flooded with Aurors and “Harry” saved from her grasp.
She was cautious as she stepped through the thresh hold, her wand out as she pushed the door open and squinted into the dimly lit flat. Sighing, she slid her shoes off at the door and slipped into the kitchen pouring herself a glass of wine (and proceeding to take a rather large sip of it) before going about setting out food.
“Harry. Are you here?” It wouldn’t be the first time she’d come home to find he’d stepped out, despite the fact her was in self-proclaimed hiding.
