[ MASQUERADE ]

Masquerade!
Paper faces on parade . . .


On the morning of the masquerade a perfectly wrapped parcel appears on the bedside table with no note at all. Whether you decide to dress or not is up to you however at 7pm sharp you feel that familiar tugging sensation in the pit of your stomach and suddenly you are in a vast, lavish ballroom among many others. It's a beautiful affair, clearly expensive with food off to one side and a band already playing.

Are you going to try and join in the festivities or find away out of the room which doors only seem to lead on to patios?

All right, so I know it's been a while since this all started up, but I don't feel as if I really got a chance to jump in on the mass confusion - besides, I know people have been waiting desperately to hear my thoughts on the matter.

And so I have come to deliver.

But, seriously. I can't be the only one that finds this entire thing a bit exciting, right? I mean, okay, there might be a bit of less than... happy news for some people in finding out the future, but still. There are people from more than twenty years from now walking about.

As if there hadn't been enough excitement in recent years with an entire war and all, now we have people arriving from both the future and the past.

I see this going extremely well.

Ways in which this could potentially go wrong for myself personally:
  • I end up having to deal with a child from the future, and the choice in mother is far below my standards.
  • Any one of my mother's former husbands arrive. Particularly my father. Though I suppose this one is far more likely to go wrong for my mother than myself.

This is just crap, then.

I mean, granted, it could have been worse. I could have ended up here before I'd even finished Hogwarts, so I guess I'm glad for that small favour. But this is really going to get in the way of my Auror training and I'll be damned if I end up working in a shop.

Not that there's anything wrong with working in a shop. My dad does own two.

It's just... not for me.

Why the fuck are their still death eaters running around? Why haven't they been arrested yet? This is ridiculous, are we waiting for someone to die? for someone to be killed again? It's going to happen - sooner or later. You can't teach old, vicious dogs new tricks and you shouldn't try.

Why is no one doing anything about this! They walk around like they've done nothing wrong but they are murderers. It feels wrong to live under the same fucking roof as some of those people.

Everyone has children and a future. I can't help but wonder if me and Theodore... perhaps there is no one baring my nose or smile, or a mix of our laughs. Draco has a son and I couldn't help but think of how he could be mine, how if me and Draco had... It wouldn't have worked. Me and Draco. I love him but not in that way, he deserves someone better. This is all so strange.

People are still turning up - I can't help but wonder when this is going to end. The shop is getting more visitors than usual also, it's quite strange.
