"Grandfa," said Scorpius. "I was wondering...."

Lucius cocked an eyebrow at the Malfoy Scion, inviting the young lad to continue.

"Now that you and Rose's mum are all sorted out...."

"If by sorted out you mean settled in a warm and supportive relationship between equals," Lucius said. "Then yes, we are all sorted out."

"Er, yes, that's not quite what you said to Uncle Severus last week, was it? You said that she was a hell of a goer and you needed some of those special Mistletoe painkiller potions for your back because of that thing she did..."

Lucius' arched eyebrow changed from inviting to a warning flag.

"Anyway," Scorpius said, quickly moving on. "Now that you and Hermione are all settled, can you give me some advice about Rose?"

"And what do we say when we ask someone for a favour?"

Scorpius cast round in his mind for the right answer. "Er, do it, or I'll tell Hermione what you said?"

Lucius tutted. "No, dear boy. It's farouche to use blackmail against a family member, at least at the outset."

Scorpius nodded gravely. "Sorry, Grandfa, I meant to say please would you help because you're so clever and wise and experienced."

"That's much better. Flattery first, blackmail later. Always remember that." Lucius reached out and patted Scorpius' head. "And of course I'll help."
