Hello all,

Unfortunately, Jo (the mod) has taken her leave from modding and from the game entirely. She has left us (Di and Dana) in charge. Unfortunately, neither of us have the time or energy to be the prime and central mod for the game. If anyone else does have the time, energy, and urge to drive the game, we are definitely willing to assist (or step aside entirely if you'd prefer).

If you'd like to step up and take the reins, please let us know (drop a line here, ping one of us on AIM or email, etc) by Friday. Otherwise, we will officially close the game to apps, though the communities and game information will remain up indefinitely for those who wish to play on in the sandbox.

It's (Inter-)House Unity Week this week, so we've got a few related questions for you. You can answer any or all of them. All responses should be in-character (unless you need to make OOC plans concerning things that come up, of course) but NONE of this information can be carried over to IC knowledge unless the players agree.

Hello! I'm Dana and I'm new. Bringing you a brand new 6th Year Ravenclaw Character, Veronica Runcorn. She prefers Ronnie by the way. Ron is also acceptable. Anyway I am not sure how many, if any of you I know but I am excited to meet you all. I'm 25 and live in Canada on the Pacific coast, so I rock the PST time zone. I have a lot of free time, because well in May I graduated from my degree program and now I just work. It feels weird not being in school, I'll be honest. I work a standards Monday to Friday schedule 730am-4pm. So I have a lot of time when I get home. I'm hoping to be around a lot. I have aim attackhugtime and I am generally on. I am definitely reachable through e-mail: defaultnation@gmail.com at any time. I check that at work and such.

Anyway, onto the more important thing, introducing Ronnie. She is the daughter of Lydia Runcorn and David Stebbins, but she does not know that yet. So she does not know she is sister to Melinda! She has four cousins kicking around, Adela & Magda Bole, and Angela & Laura Upton. Anyway, she is a Ravenclaw 6th year and Blind Side Beater, been on the team as of 5th year. Here is her full bio, but it is a little long so understand if you don't read it all. Ronnie is expatriate social circle, and role of tutor. Ronnie wants to get the hell out of Hogwarts and as fast as she can. She charges for tutoring and sees it as a way to make quality money in this place. But she is a demanding tutor, expects results and wont do your work for you. Ronnie is the girl who rolls her eyes in class and sighs when she thinks people are asking stupid unnecessary questions. She is not the most tolerant human being. She hates the general feeling of people 'taking away from her education'. She is extremely opinionated, but at least as tact. She respect people in position of authority (sometimes as she does have issues with some prefects). She is competitive even in the academic setting. Gosh this is getting long. She is just relatively gruff and definitely an acquired taste in the friendship world.

As for who she is friends with it is generally an asset to have intelligence in some regard. Or at the very least accept her advice to how you could be more intelligent. She likes people she can talk with and debate. She really cares about her friends as she know she can be hard to get around with.

One role I am looking for is a kid in 1st year who she hit in the head during History of Magic class for falling asleep. They didn't sit next to her after that, and it could have created a bit of an enemy sort of thing if you wanted.

Right, so, 'ello! I am a new player bringing, duh, a new character! Name's Korrin and I am currently in the UK for about another year and half, so that's 0 GMT time. I keep wonky hours because of the husband's work schedule. o_O Because of that, I'd say I'm around less on weekends versus weekdays, since those are the only days I get to spend quality time with him. I'm 28, a Creative Writing major, and a super huge nerd/dork/geek. I don't have a Plurk, yet, buuuut I have a Tumblr? And I have a personal LJ, but I rarely use it, so...that was pointless mentioning. -__- RP wise, I've table-topped, and played on GJ (R.I.P.), LJ, IJ, and DW for over ten years now.

So there's this great thing called Plurk, and I don't know how many of you know about it, BUT. As an rp resource it's...well. It's like if group chats and ooc communities and email all got together and had one massive baby.

I know some of us are on it, and some of us are using it more productively than others, but how about a general pimp-out of plurk names for communal use/thread posting?

Ahem. Hi! I'm Sara. It's 9 am on a Sunday and I really, really want to still be asleep but sadly I am not, so I might as well do intros. Whoo. So, like...I'm 25, I work full time at an ob/gyn doing insurance crap and sneaking online half the day when it's slow, my CDJ is petrichor, my email is xgirlxanachronismx@gmail.com, and my AIM is SavageFlight. You're probably gonna reach me a lot quicker on the former two than the latter, JSYK.

More importantly by far, this is Dominique Weasley. She's a fourth year Gryffindor, the Activist in the Non-Conformist social circle, and a right pain in the arse because her primary method of differentiating herself from all the other Weasleys out there is to argue about everything constantly with everyone. She's one of those people who will disagree with just about anything just for the sake of having something to say, and she will stubborn it out looooong after the argument is actually over. Some of this is being 14, some of it's a Middle Child thing, some of it's just Dom. She does have her good traits, though: she's incredibly loyal, and she haaaaates bullies and is not intimidated by anyone whatsoever, so. There's that.

Please do not mention her Veela ancestry to her. It makes her want to claw her own face off just so you won't think she's pretty because of magic. Ugh. She is, however, really fascinated by all non-human magical societies, and her main Activist thing is Equal Treatment For Everybody (it started thanks to Aunt Hermione getting her to join SPEW when she was little- she liked the badge, ok- and evolved from there.)

Hmm, what else? She's in Wilderness Adventures and is joining the Hogwarts X Press this year, so your character might well know her from those things. They also might know her as that girl who screamed at Professor Hobday in the Great Hall last year about a points dispute, maybe, IDK.

She needs: a few friends, yes please. Probably a lot more people she's pissed off or annoyed. And hopefully, eventually, someone to have a ridiculous unrequited crush on, because it will annoy the hell out of her and I am cruel.

Hey everyone! I'm L, or she-who-takes-forever-to-intro. You know, for short. Anyway, I'm in the Mountain timezone (that's GMT -7) and I'm usually on weekdays after 7 (or 8 if I miss my usual bus) and weekends... just generally a lot. I'm trying to remember to be on AIM more often, we'll see how that works out. I'm crimegeek101 both on AIM and @gmail.com.

And this is Alan Pritchard! He's a sixth year Slytherin, adopted son of Graham Pritchard and Justin FInch-Fletchley, and in a billion clubs (Gobstones, Broom Racing, Hogwarts X Press, and he's captain of Wilderness Adventures). He's in the Nonconformist social circle, but since his role is that of the Parent, if he has even the vaguest excuse to know you he'll be harassing you with well-meant concern about about your life. He's also the resident semi-incompetent mad scientist, because his grand goal in life is to integrate technology and magic, and also to break as many laws and rules of magic as possible. That means that pretty much everyone is going to know of him for some stupid event or another (like his series of Expelliarmus experiments in third year; highlights include applying a sticking charm to his wand and getting someone to use it on him, trying to use it on himself, and trying it on different inanimate objects).

So! He needs plots of any and all kinds, except for romance of the non-crush variety.

Hello everyone! I'm Caolinn nineteen and a university student studying German! woo. I row so mostly my evenings are taken up until 7 and then I have homework, but I'll be around so don't worry. EST timezone. I have Abigail Wood here a 6th year Slytherin. She is the daughter of Oliver Wood and one of his classmates from school, Amelia Cadawallader. Her mum is no longer in the picture and growing up Abby became very close with her dad (obviously a daddy's girl). She was a tomboy until a few years ago and then she started into style and caring about what she's wearing. She plays Quidditch and is keeper/captain of the Slytherin team! She doesn't have the typical keeper build (she's petite). Abby loves Quidz and spends alot of her time doing that. To her winning is important because she really wants to succeed partly because she wants to show her father that she's just as good as he is at Quidditch, but she also just wants her team to win. She also spends a lot of time on her schoolwork. She is pretty intelligent and studies whenever she isn't playing quidditch. However, once her she's done studying she likes to go out and party and be a regular teenager. When she leaves school she wants to become an Auror and then work her way up in the Ministry. Abby has a problem explaining her feelings or just letting anyone know what they are. However, on the outside she's really friendly and likes everyone. She is in the sporty social circle and her role is the Potion Master! With the Potions Master, Abby has a little side business where she sells potions to students (hangover potions etc) so she'll be willing to sell them to anyone. She's had one serious boyfriend in the past and then there were a few short flings but she doesn't talk about those. I cannot think of anything else. The rest of her profile is here. Hi, everyone! I'm Lesley, 22 and with a time zone of GMT+8 (other side of the world, whuddup + I stay up late), and I give you Cecily Fortescue!

She is the granddaughter of the late Florean, his son being her father, so by default, she automatically loves ice cream! She's a bubbly and friendly 6th year Slytherin, would randomly pop out to scare/surprise people, and will forever have a smile on her face. While she's generally always happy, she has her down moments (cue tears), and it's a rare occurrence, but it happens; she just doesn't like to show it. Oh! She's in the average social circle and is one of the Healers (her future career), treating minor injuries and illnesses. So, she's your go to person, if your character doesn't want to deal with Healer Pye over small things!

Other random things! Nicknames include Cece/Cee/C, and anything pertaining to ice cream. She's part of Cooking with Charms and the Choir. She's been single since birth, open to dating; close friends with Alex and her own cousin Wesley. She appears calm, but easily amused, entertained, and excitable when the situation calls for it. Sorry it took so long to sort out, but the POP CULTURE PAGE is now viewable. You can head on over and add bits and pieces to your characters' profiles, or comment there with your own ideas for us to add in. (Apologies in advance for my complete inability to resist throwing in references to things you don't care about. You'll survive.)

Rather than comment on everyone's post with the same crappy excuse for not being here ever...I'll just force you all to latch onto mine, because I'm evil like that or something I don't know.

I'm Bee! And I've spent Saturday through today dealing with a lot of crazy moving back to school whatever crap plus classes, which are just pesky. But whatever, perma four-day-weekend. Anyway, I have three characters to tell you about and you probably want to hear about them instead of my college career. Amirite? Imsorite.

First is Hyacinth Higgs, over at amyclae. She's a fourth-year Slytherin, and the daughter of Terence Higgs and Pansy Parkinson. She's in the popular social circle and is a Spy (mu ha ha) which really translates to the much less nefarious attribute of being a total gossip. She knows things about everyone. Her hair is full of other peoples' secrets. And if you never give her a reason to not like you, she's a total sweetheart. She likes figuring people out-- not in a conscious 'people are puzzles' kind of way, but as more of a Thing She Does. She's fun. You'll all like her, or like hating her. I promise.

Next up is Aidan McCormack at mccormacked. He's a seventh-year Ravenclaw, keeper for the house team, and one day he'll be the best damn keeper the pro world has ever seen. (And don't try to tell him otherwise. It won't work.) He's arrogant and charismatic and truth be told a lot of fun, so long as you don't want a long-term emotional commitment out of him. Aidan's the kind of guy who gets into trouble on weekends because he can, and if there's a party going on you better believe he'll know where it's at. He's also an unethical tutor, so if you need help answers he can probably hook you up.

Last is this girl, Emilia Puckle. She's a seventh-year Gryffindor, pretty much a brain, and Head Girl. She's a total sweetheart in that protective-motherly way, so if you need some comforting she'll more than happily listen to you and maybe coo a little bit. Em's got high hopes for her future after Hogwarts, with plans to get into the Ministry for Wizarding Relations (kind of a big thing with her), so don't mess with her when it comes time for exams-- she won't be so cheery if you bust up her study schedule.

Hello hello, brand new player with a brand new muse here to say HI GUYS! I'm KaOS, and I come bearing Miles Bennett, a kind of perpetually-hyper seventh year stoner guy who has the tendency to avoid classes, get into trouble with Aidan, and Find Things (because lol Hufflepuff THEY ARE GOOD AT THAT though Miles more so than most). App thing can be found here and I look forward to playing with all of you lovely folks when the school year rolls around!

Anyone want any pre-existing CR let me know; Miles tends to get around in a "sticks his nose everywhere" kind of way, so chances are your muse has run into him at least once over the years for one reason or another.

HI FOLKS, I am Di (Diana, D, Dee, whatever) and I can be found as keenanesque @ AIM (both to chat and email). I bring you Maura McCormack, latest addition in a long line (ok not that long) of quidditch-stomping McCormack women. She's the Ravenclaw quidditch captain and chaser, and about as enthusiastic about the game and her responsibilities as you would expect. Other things about her: 7th year, sporty social circle, also involved in Cooking With Charms (but she hates baking and thus has a bit of Attitude about the club).

She's almost permanently cheerful and friendly, but being so busy with quidditch, study, everything means she tends to associate on a pretty superficial level. She has a wide streak of whimsy that some might call silliness, and a tendency to misunderstand or not get social cues or subtle references and say entirely the wrong thing. (In fact, she's one of the Wildcards.) However, she's very approachable (in fact, she has never said no to a first date in her life, and only declined subsequent dates rarely).

She could use friends and friendly acquaintances, people who find her irritating or downright insensitive, and all sorts of everything. I am up for just about anything, but particularly interested in long- or short-term plans involving messy romance she doesn't understand, or messy antagonism she doesn't understand. :)
