Characters: Hamish and Larissa
Setting: King's Cross, 29th June (Saturday evening - backdated)... for now.
Summary: Hamish and Larissa are saying goodbye before the summer after a rather eventful year.
Status: In progress.
The Hogwarts Express had been unusually calm during the journey back to London. Even first-years had stayed on their seats most of the time, looking serious and sombre. Sure, there had been a few exceptions (Hamish had heard rumours of Draco Malfoy and his two bodyguards having been found in a rather interesting condition), but for most of the people the events from the previous days, from Cedric Diggory's death to Dumbledore's speech at the feast, were still running through their minds in a mix of disbelief and confusion.
Hamish in particular had been so immersed in his own thoughts that the realization that the journey had ended only hit him once everybody was out of the train and saying their goodbyes. He couldn't even remember getting up, changing back into his everyday clothes or grabbing his trunk, but there he was, dressed and ready. How odd.
He looked around. Neither his uncle nor his parents were anywhere in sight, but one of them (more likely Uncle Colin, what with his parents being busy with the baby) would very likely show up at any second. Hamish turned to Larissa, whose mother would also arrive anytime soon.
"Well," he said, "one more year."
