Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Greetings and salutations! I'm new here, and presenting for your entertainment everyone's favorite temperamental firebug, Pyro. His full bio is here, but here are the highlights, cut to save your friends page:

-- He was born in Australia but hasn't seen anything of it since he was four, so no, he doesn't have any idea if kangaroos wear boxing gloves in the wild or if Crocodile Dundee is a fair representation of the fine people down under. He doesn't care. Don't bother.
-- 17 now and has been at the school for roughly two years. Before that, he spent most of his time bouncing around from one foster family to another in New York City, and for about two and a half years before arriving at the school, he was virtually a fugitive from the system and living on his own wherever and however he could.
-- One foster family, at least, was good, and of course that had to be the one he was with when his powers manifested. He's really very reluctant to talk about anything specific from his past anyway, but he absolutely will not talk about this. Or at least not without lots of booze and/or some telepathic wizardry first.
-- Two of his favorite things: fire and boobs. So really, he's pretty similar to every other seventeen-year-old boy. Yep.

As for interactions, well, of course I'm itching to do something with him and Avalanche, and a good frienemy line with Iceman would be pretty awesome, too. Pretty much, I'm game for just about anything. I have a feeling he'd naturally gravitate toward fellow orphans, not because of any kind of sentimental solidarity thing or whatever, but just because at least he'd feel less like punching them; all these entitled brats who never had to worry about anything in their lives and who cry and whine now that "omg, life's like, so hard, man!" make him a bit axe crazy.

Oh, and I guess I should actually introduce myself, too. I'm Amanda, 24, and in grad school to get my M.A. in history. Exciting, I know. I live in West Virginia, so consider this proof that we do, in fact, have electricity. Word's still out on shoes and indoor plumbing, though. I'm a creative writer at heart and tend to focus more on fanfic, but ventured into roleplaying about five years ago and haven't stopped since. I usually play Chamber wherever I go, but 1) he's already taken and 2) I wanted to do something different, anyway. What can I say? I like snarky, fiery boys with possible mental instability issues, apparently.

That's all I got. I'm pretty boring, sorry.

So, uh, yeah! Happy to be here and excited to get started, so if anyone has any ideas or whatnot, hit me up!

Hey Amanda! I'm Wes and I play Warren Worthington (Angel), Rahne Sinclair (Wolfsbane), and ... dun, dun, dun ... Bobby Drake (Iceman).

Warren is typically better friends with girls than boys do to his nature. Couple that with the personality difference and they may not have a lot in common. However, Warren has been at the school for years and isn't much older than him so they'd have to at least know each other. I imagine Warren has personally never had any tiffs with John, Dom, or anyone ... and prefers to keep it that way.

Rahne can sometimes be charmed by snark, but usually tries to stay clear of trouble and those who call it. That being said, she's a fellow creative writer and her inner daydreamer does have an unhealthy fascination with 'mystery boys' like Remy and now John. So perhaps there is something to work with there. She just came back to the school after being away for a year, so she would have at least known of him before she left. Unless they bonded over writing or somesuch? Not sure!

Bobby is a kid who acts tricky but is really quite simple. He just wants to be liked by everyone. So since you're looking for a friendship line and Dominic is Bobby's roommate, it's definitely possible. Maybe John could be the middle ground between Bobby and Dominic. They do tend to bother each other. Even if tensions should butt up or a friendship doesn't work out, Bobby isn't too maliscious beyond his usual pranks. And honestly, his close friends probably get pranked more than his enemies. Let me know what you want to do there.

Welcome to the game!

Thanks for the welcome, and hi!

Warren: Rich pretty boy = prime target for the brunt of John's snark, I think. But as long as Warren keeps to himself, John's content with just ignoring him and not bothering him too much.

Rahne: Aww, Rahnie. <3 John doesn't like everyone knowing he writes and he really doesn't like sharing his writing, but if Rahne managed to get under his skin somehow he might tolerate it. I imagine he'd get along well enough with Rahne, or at least as well as he gets along with anyone, and might even consider her as much of a friend as he's ever likely to call anyone.

Bobby: Yeah, John knows Bobby's simple. Believe me, he knows. He's a bastard like that. But yeah, I figure it'd be something like in the movies, where there's obviously some kind of affection there but also this constant tension, not only because of their powers but also just from their personalities. I think Bobby would also probably be one of John's preferred sparring partners for training purposes, simply because an ice-covered sparring buddy would be the perfect excuse to cut loose with his own powers.

But yeah, thanks, nice to meet you! :)

Warren is definitely fine with ignoring John and vice verse. Some vain part of him probably finds it helps his public image, whoops.

Rahne may not know about his Secret Talent then, but maybe could notice it or pick it up in-game if she were helping one of the teachers grade or came upon something. If he was cool with her, then she'd be more comfortable approaching him about it.

Bobby believes he's not transparent, but he is. So John harping on that might cause some mild tension and add to the 'frienemy' status. I can see Bobby enjoying the sparring matches though. Like John, it was a great way to cut loose and surely each of them has taken it too far one time or another without downright meaning to.

If you ever want to thread, feel free to throw one up and I'll get to it ASAP.

So! Ignoring each other it is, then! Deal. :)

Ooh, I didn't think about the grading thing. That would probably work. Or maybe she could happen across him when he was writing in the library (because God help him if he tries to get any peace and quiet somewhere else).

Yeah, I'm sure they've been talked to about showing up at the infirmary with scorch marks and frostbite, where they inevitably agreed to back off and then go right back to it the next time they spar. And, of course, there's always the possibility that those losses of control weren't always strictly accidental; I'm sure they'd be taunting each other and one of them (and let's be honest, it'd probably be John) hitting a verbal low blow and making the other one lash out. And if Bobby actually was the one to do it, that could very well raise John's opinion of him slightly, just because for once Bobby wasn't the predictable nice guy.
