Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Greetings and salutations! I'm new here, and presenting for your entertainment everyone's favorite temperamental firebug, Pyro. His full bio is here, but here are the highlights, cut to save your friends page:

-- He was born in Australia but hasn't seen anything of it since he was four, so no, he doesn't have any idea if kangaroos wear boxing gloves in the wild or if Crocodile Dundee is a fair representation of the fine people down under. He doesn't care. Don't bother.
-- 17 now and has been at the school for roughly two years. Before that, he spent most of his time bouncing around from one foster family to another in New York City, and for about two and a half years before arriving at the school, he was virtually a fugitive from the system and living on his own wherever and however he could.
-- One foster family, at least, was good, and of course that had to be the one he was with when his powers manifested. He's really very reluctant to talk about anything specific from his past anyway, but he absolutely will not talk about this. Or at least not without lots of booze and/or some telepathic wizardry first.
-- Two of his favorite things: fire and boobs. So really, he's pretty similar to every other seventeen-year-old boy. Yep.

As for interactions, well, of course I'm itching to do something with him and Avalanche, and a good frienemy line with Iceman would be pretty awesome, too. Pretty much, I'm game for just about anything. I have a feeling he'd naturally gravitate toward fellow orphans, not because of any kind of sentimental solidarity thing or whatever, but just because at least he'd feel less like punching them; all these entitled brats who never had to worry about anything in their lives and who cry and whine now that "omg, life's like, so hard, man!" make him a bit axe crazy.

Oh, and I guess I should actually introduce myself, too. I'm Amanda, 24, and in grad school to get my M.A. in history. Exciting, I know. I live in West Virginia, so consider this proof that we do, in fact, have electricity. Word's still out on shoes and indoor plumbing, though. I'm a creative writer at heart and tend to focus more on fanfic, but ventured into roleplaying about five years ago and haven't stopped since. I usually play Chamber wherever I go, but 1) he's already taken and 2) I wanted to do something different, anyway. What can I say? I like snarky, fiery boys with possible mental instability issues, apparently.

That's all I got. I'm pretty boring, sorry.

So, uh, yeah! Happy to be here and excited to get started, so if anyone has any ideas or whatnot, hit me up!

Hi. Welcome to the game. I'm Mark and I have Doug an Piotr, don't think I'd have much going on with Pyro from either of them but I'm always up for random interaction.

Hey Amanda! I'm Wes and I play Warren Worthington (Angel), Rahne Sinclair (Wolfsbane), and ... dun, dun, dun ... Bobby Drake (Iceman).

Warren is typically better friends with girls than boys do to his nature. Couple that with the personality difference and they may not have a lot in common. However, Warren has been at the school for years and isn't much older than him so they'd have to at least know each other. I imagine Warren has personally never had any tiffs with John, Dom, or anyone ... and prefers to keep it that way.

Rahne can sometimes be charmed by snark, but usually tries to stay clear of trouble and those who call it. That being said, she's a fellow creative writer and her inner daydreamer does have an unhealthy fascination with 'mystery boys' like Remy and now John. So perhaps there is something to work with there. She just came back to the school after being away for a year, so she would have at least known of him before she left. Unless they bonded over writing or somesuch? Not sure!

Bobby is a kid who acts tricky but is really quite simple. He just wants to be liked by everyone. So since you're looking for a friendship line and Dominic is Bobby's roommate, it's definitely possible. Maybe John could be the middle ground between Bobby and Dominic. They do tend to bother each other. Even if tensions should butt up or a friendship doesn't work out, Bobby isn't too maliscious beyond his usual pranks. And honestly, his close friends probably get pranked more than his enemies. Let me know what you want to do there.

Welcome to the game!

Thanks for the welcome, and hi!

Warren: Rich pretty boy = prime target for the brunt of John's snark, I think. But as long as Warren keeps to himself, John's content with just ignoring him and not bothering him too much.

Rahne: Aww, Rahnie. <3 John doesn't like everyone knowing he writes and he really doesn't like sharing his writing, but if Rahne managed to get under his skin somehow he might tolerate it. I imagine he'd get along well enough with Rahne, or at least as well as he gets along with anyone, and might even consider her as much of a friend as he's ever likely to call anyone.

Bobby: Yeah, John knows Bobby's simple. Believe me, he knows. He's a bastard like that. But yeah, I figure it'd be something like in the movies, where there's obviously some kind of affection there but also this constant tension, not only because of their powers but also just from their personalities. I think Bobby would also probably be one of John's preferred sparring partners for training purposes, simply because an ice-covered sparring buddy would be the perfect excuse to cut loose with his own powers.

But yeah, thanks, nice to meet you! :)

Warren is definitely fine with ignoring John and vice verse. Some vain part of him probably finds it helps his public image, whoops.

Rahne may not know about his Secret Talent then, but maybe could notice it or pick it up in-game if she were helping one of the teachers grade or came upon something. If he was cool with her, then she'd be more comfortable approaching him about it.

Bobby believes he's not transparent, but he is. So John harping on that might cause some mild tension and add to the 'frienemy' status. I can see Bobby enjoying the sparring matches though. Like John, it was a great way to cut loose and surely each of them has taken it too far one time or another without downright meaning to.

If you ever want to thread, feel free to throw one up and I'll get to it ASAP.

So! Ignoring each other it is, then! Deal. :)

Ooh, I didn't think about the grading thing. That would probably work. Or maybe she could happen across him when he was writing in the library (because God help him if he tries to get any peace and quiet somewhere else).

Yeah, I'm sure they've been talked to about showing up at the infirmary with scorch marks and frostbite, where they inevitably agreed to back off and then go right back to it the next time they spar. And, of course, there's always the possibility that those losses of control weren't always strictly accidental; I'm sure they'd be taunting each other and one of them (and let's be honest, it'd probably be John) hitting a verbal low blow and making the other one lash out. And if Bobby actually was the one to do it, that could very well raise John's opinion of him slightly, just because for once Bobby wasn't the predictable nice guy.

Welcome! I'm Tori and I have Kurt (Nightcrawler), Jono (Chamber :X), Josh (Elixir), and Pietro (Quicksilver)!

Kurt has been at the school for about two years himself and is 16 so I'm sure he and John at least know each other. He's friendly with everyone and while he is rather straight-laced he is definitely up for pranks/hijinks.

Jono has only been at the school a few months and is still attempting to come to terms with all of his issues (and I'm sure both know how that goes haha). So he's pretty damn angsty at the moment, but he is finally getting to know people and coming out of his shell a bit.

Josh is one of the college kids and is for the most part the responsible, studious type. However he and Alex are known for their dorm parties so he does get into trouble now and again.

And finally Pietro. I'd love to get John, Dominic, and Pietro together as they're all bad boys XD Mini-brotherhood, if you will.

So yeah! I'm always up for plots so feel free to hit me up whenever!

Kurt: I think John would be indifferent to Kurt, though probably leaning more toward "like" than "dislike," most of the time.

Jono: Ah, the emo kid. For some reason I have visions of John trying to get Jono to let him manipulate his "fire" just for giggles. And then trying it anyway after Jono tells him to get bent. Fun times. On the one hand I think they'd clash, but on the other hand I think they might actually get along reasonably well. If nothing else, they could have snark contests, I suppose.

Josh: Again, probably more indifference here than anything. I doubt John would let him live it down if the golden boy genius got called out onto the carpet for partying, though. That's just how he rolls.

Pietro: Mini-BroHo, indeed! Fun times. I kind of fear for the safety and sanity of everyone else if those three get together, but at least they could keep things interesting while maybe possibly kinda plotting some kind of global takeover or at least some liquor smuggling into the school.

Pyro for the win! Hey Amanda! Welcome to the game! I'm Calli and I play AVALANCHE. Who has been sorely lacking his pyromaniac buddy! I would LOVE a line with them. Dominic is snarky, surly, and hates 90% of Xavier's population. That doesn't leave him with too many people he tolerates. Like minded people who get into trouble and start fires? I think he'd totally be down with that. For the most part, Dominic tends to get himself into fights with... just about everyone. He's also really not a leader so (as John is) if you wanted to work something in there where Dom plays John's right hand man? I am soooo down for that! Let me know if you have anything in mind there?

Yaaay, Dom! Snarky, surly and easily frustrated with everyone else at the school = right up John's alley. Just reading his bio, yeah, I think John and Dom will get along splendidly. They can bond while slaughtering hookers in GTA or something, possibly.

And yeah, I hate to say it but I can also totally see John being the brains behind an operation and Dom being the one who actually does anything about it. Clearly they need to have an adventure of some sort to test this theory. *nodnod*

Hi Amanda, nice to meet you! I'm Teresa, and I play Theresa Cassidy, who is two years older than Pyro but probably still sees him around the school. Terry's one of those people who gets along with most everyone, unless someone is purposefully mean or bitchy towards her- then the claws come out. She and Pyro seem to share a love of alcohol (yeah, them and half the other students). Welcome to the game!

John figures that as far as vices go, alcohol's fairly low on the list and more socially acceptable than crack, so it's all good. And hi! Liquored up, feisty redhead with a cool accent? John might be in love, just a little. If only because he probably harbors some lame fantasy about wooing her, I imagine John would probably get along with Terry well enough. They might not be BFFs, naturally, but he likes people who can give as good as they get and who can actually match him in verbal battles, so I think he'd be okay with her. And not at all convinced she secretly wanted to jump his bones.

Hi Amanda, I'm Raven & I've got two pups here:

Tandy aka Dagger: Has only been around the last four months, but has been gone the last week for some family issues. She's a dancer (ballet at heart, though she tries everything). She's happy and loves to meet new people, is easy to get along with...though she's a vegetarian who thinks of herself as an activist though she doesn't seem to know what that word actually means.

Sooraya aka Dust: I'd love for Pyro to at some point blast Dust and turn her to glass. I had other reasons for this, but those are gone and I just want this to happen at some point & I think he's a bastard enough to do it, or no? Other than that she's a devout Muslim who is going through some issues and no longer wears full veils, she's been in the school for two years now.

I'm open for any sort of plot you may be interested in. :D I'm not usually on AIM, but if you see me, feel free to ping me at StillNocturnal.

Howdy! For Tandy's sake, don't let John find out she's vegetarian. He'll end up signing her up for the steak of the month club or something.

He's definitely bastard enough to do it, but unless she seriously pissed him off I don't think he'd do it purpose. Maybe they could be training and she gets caught in the crossfire, or one of them decides that they want to find out if she really can turn to glass? Not sure how exactly it would work, but yeah, I'm totally up for that!

O.o oh god she'd flip the hell out if he did that, I mean she'd end up giving the meat to the school so it doesn't waste, but she'd flip the hell out for all intensive purposes & probably life-force-drain him if she ever found out it had been him.......then kick him in the head while he's stuck in his own head reliving all the bad things he's ever done in his life right down to burning ants...or whatever. o.O

I was thinking it'd be a training 'accident' like maybe they just got too heated during training and training became fighting. Maybe he just said one too many stupid things, or took a low blow or something, and she decided to be a bitch back....and then wham...flames = glass = state of death!

lmao okay then, anti-PETA tactics are out. Though now that you mention it, those powers would come in handy for one of these times when John gets too uppity. Then again, it's entirely possibly that I'm just evil.

"Hey, maybe if you took that veil off you could see when you're about to get your ass handed to you." Never mind the fact the veil's actually gone these days and that her eyes weren't covered in the first place. John's enough of a prick to say it anyway. As for blasting her, I'm not sure how he'd react to that. At first he'd probably be like, "...the hell?" and then, once he realized what had actually happened, he'd start wigging out and go for help. I'm just not positive if he'd be completely honest with them. "Yeah, I meant to fry the bitch" seems less likely than trying to cover his ass with excuses about accidentally getting carried away in training.

I'm kind of excited about this now. See: evil self. ^_^

Hey Amanda! I'm Samma. Welcome welcome welcome to the game! I hope you enjoy it here~ :3 Oh man, good luck on your M.A! I'm in my last semester for a B.A. in English, focus creative writing. Which usually makes it sound like I'm an awesome RPer, but sometimes my muse goes to assignments everywhere, so I apologize in advance for any delays if we get threading! And I hope we do. :3 I've got Remy LeBeau/Gambit, Vanessa Carlysle/Copycat, and Jay Guthrie/Icarus.

Remy is pretty much a self-proclaimed bad boy and ladies man, so I can see them going between butting heads and hanging out. He likes a good smoke and a good drink and doesn't have much of a moral compass. He's just there to have fun.

Vanessa fits the boobs category! She's six foot and works out and is well-endowed. She's been there for two years, too, but has only recently really stepped out of the shadows. She's really there as a spy for Weapon X, and is working to copy the powers of most of the students there, so she'll ask him at some point. She's recently become a little more outgoing. She knows a lot more about everyone than they might think because she spent her first year and a half doing nothing but stalking everyone. XD

Jay... ROOMMATE YAY! I am excited. When reading the profile, I giggled at how he dislikes self-pity, because Jay's just recently started pulling himself out of some pretty severe self-pity. He's been there a little over a month and didn't come at a good time in his life - he came right after Julia's death. So he's been sullen and has tried to kill himself a couple of times, twice in the room, so John might have found out. He's slowly pulling himself out of it, though, so here's hoping. They should have an interesting time interacting. Jay's a year behind him in school and two years younger.

I RAMBLE. I'm sorry. XD Oh. And you can catch me on AIM at WeekendRenee (I'm shy at first, though XD) or e-mail at MarvelRPGirl@gmail.com

Hi, hi! My undergrad was in English/creative writing, too! Well, and history. English nerds, unite!

I can see John and Remy mostly coexisting, but possibly clashing now and then over stupid things.

John's a sucker for a pretty girl interested in fire, so she shouldn't have any problem getting him to show her the basics about his powers, but he's also a really suspicious little asshole who won't give away anything too important.

Yeah, I can see John, upon finding out what Jay's deal is, initially being, "Huh, well, that sucks" and being done with it, and then getting more and more irritated the longer Jay went on moping. He'd probably be pretty pissed off about the whole attempted suicide thing as well, because that's just a lazy cheater's way out, and would just mean they'd stick someone even more annoying in his room to replace Jay if it actually worked. John's not the most sympathetic guy in the world, clearly.

Rambling's good! I'm cool with rambling. :D

Dood, okay, so I suck, apparently. I've had this open in a browser tab ALL DAY... like, since you posted it... and I'm only just now getting to tag it. (9pm PST. o_o)

I'm Missy, and I'm 1/3 the mod team here at academy_x. I play four pups, and can't wait to work out some plots with you about them all. ^^

Rogue's relatively canon? I guess? She's been at the school since Halloween, and came straight from Mystique's clutches (mwahahaha) after killing Ms Marvel. She's got the whole wild and crazy thing, fun times excellent, but she's really really really shy. (Wow, do I sound tired, or what?)

I've got Paige, too. She's been at the school for 18 months or so, and she's a SWEETHEART. She's a studyaholic, and an innocent, naive, friendly, wonderful, young girl. She's also got two brothers at the school who are rather protective. Papa Guthrie died a couple days before Jono exploded, destroying the girls' dorm, which lead to 10 days or so of power-less-less (due to a spell Wanda cast accidentally...) ...am I going too fast for you? XD

Oh, my aim is jeanxskirt and I'm always up for chatting/ploting/playing. ^_^

I also play Wanda. She's quiet, bookish, reserved, and amusingly foreign. She was raised by gypsies, so there's a lot of stuff she doesn't really understand... like computers and whatnot. She can't seem to get the remote in the rec room to work on the television, and it makes her more and more frustrated every time. XD

And Logan. He's Logan.

[/novel]

Welcome to the game and whatnot! :) I'm totally down with making backstory and history and plotting and all that stuff. Lemme know what ideas you've got and we'll work stuff out!!

Ha! I do that on a regular basis myself, so it's totally understandable. And hi! :)

As opposed to the movie incarnation, I can actually imagine John getting along reasonably well with Rogue just because her history sucks just as much as his and he'd be able to relate to the runaway bit.

Aww, Paige. <3 her. Okay, <3 all 10 billion Guthries, but whatever. I'm thinking John would probably be mostly indifferent to her, but might flirt now and then just to try to get a rise out of Jono 'cause he's a bastard that way.

Heee, Wanda sounds adorable. I'm sure at some point she and John will bump into each other in the library, which should be amusing. ^_^

Heh. Hi, Logan. Meet your worst nightmare. Heh, no, I think John, while enough of a kamikaze to not really be afraid of Wolvie, per se, is still smart enough to know better than to push his luck. Not saying he won't still try to get under Logan's skin when the mood strikes, of course. :D

W00t! ^_^ Hi! I also have an almost 10 month old daughter (and a clingy husband) that keep me quite occupied. (Daughter during the day, husband on weekends...) So, I'm sorry if I'm delayed in tagging from time to time. <3

I concur. Rogue's got a lot of that "I've been through hard times" thing. She gets along well with people who've had troubles. She and Jono are like this. *crosses fingers* I can see Rogue and John connecting.

Yay Paige! I'm always so intimidated that I'm not playing her right. Had to read Gen X like, a billion times through to try and get a grip on her... and haven't even started in all her other incarnations. But now that she and Jono are off-again, she's gonna be more interested in flirting with other people. Especially since she's "grown up" a bit through her relationship with him so far. ;) So, yes. And John would get a rise out of Jay and Sam, too. Win-win-win!

Wanda's so much fun. I love how awkward she is, and how awkward she makes other people. For instance, she didn't know how to fist-bump with Ty, so she put her hand over his fist as in Rock-Paper-Scissors. ^^ Anyway, she's fun times. It'll be fun to get them together. Because yay Brotherhood starting up!

Logan will most likely ignore him to the best of his ability. He likes certain students, and ignores almost all the rest. I think there's a part of him that thinks the school would be a lot nicer without all the students in it. XD Yay being curmudgeonly!

lmao Sam and Jay both would probably be like, "o_____O Are you trying to kill us?" Because one unhinged snarker with destructive powers and self-destructive tendencies wasn't enough, obviously.

Ha! That's adorable. <3 Wanda will add a nice female touch to the boys club (Or, as John would probably put it, she'll put the "ho" in the BroHo), so yes, yay!

*snort* Well, for what it's worth, I think that's more or less John's attitude about the school as well, so maybe he and Logan will have at least something in common. :)

Hey Amanda! Welcome to the game! I'm Lynn and I've got:

Regan Wyngarde (Lady Mastermind): A spoiled Daddy's girl with a malicious streak. Skewed morals, and lack of conscious, pretty much does and says and does what she wants, when she wants, how she wants it. Not totally evil just very... misguided. Tits factor is in - and she's a shameless flirt. Probably wont dig John in any respects romantically (plus he's younger), but definitely still finds it amusing.

Julian Keller (Hellion): Another egotistical jerk. A huge punk-ass prick who tries to be the big man on campus. He's a daredevil and is always trying to show off. He's a huge troublemaker too, but genuinely a decent guy. Julian's sort of hit-miss with all the Brotherhood Boys, whereas he should fit in, but his big fat ego clashes and gets in the way. Let's not forget he's the son of billionaires and likes to rub it in.

And there's Callisto, a member of the faculty, probably the worst teacher in terms of actual structured teaching (it's okay, she only teaches Phys Ed.), but the most bad-ass in terms of leniency and 'cool' factor. She's semi-strict in power training though, teaching leadership and teamwork.

Am torn between whether John will think Regan's fascinating or just an evil bitch, or maybe even both. She kind of seems like a much darker, female version of him, which naturally means he'd be at odds with her from the get-go because dealing with similar personalities = hell.

Sigh. Oh, Hellion. I've always been so torn about that little brat, but I think John's opinion would be much clearer: he's a spoiled rich asshole who would be the first one John would kill and eat if he had to resort to cannibalism (because this is how he gauges all his social relations, see), but at least he has powers that could come in handy.

Heh. I think John and Callisto will get along just fine. She might have to rag on him about that whole "teamwork" issue, but anyone who can go toe to toe with him in sarcasm wars is okay with him.

Sounds like a blast, we'll have to get Regan, Julian and John interacting in a few threads to see what fleshes out.

Regan's in the same boat for the way she views John - she'll either think he's irritating, or another cool bad boy in the making. But with their super bold personalities it's hard to say exactly. I know Regan doesn't get along well with Dominic (they butt heads recently), so that might hold some influence.

And Callisto will definitely rag on him about teamwork when the time comes. You can bet on it lol.

Oooh, yes, must get them together sometime. They'll either plot global domination or be at each other's throats until someone separates them. Fun!

Hey, no one picks on the earthquake machine but John. That's his job. So yeah, he'd probably be kinda bitchy bitchier than usual to Regan for that.

And yay, Callisto! Sometimes (okay, often) John needs someone to give him a good swift kick to keep him in line. I think she's a pretty good candidate, and one he might actually listen to because he probably realizes deep down that she could kick his ass.

Hey ^^

I'm Lauren and I play Jean Grey, who probably is fine with him, and Magma. I can see Magma possibly clashing with him, possibly two people who really enjoy fire hanging out? Could be interesting...anyway welcome to the game ^^

Erm. Yeah. John's not a fan of telepaths, or any mutants who can get in his head even indirectly (sorry, Rogue), but at least Jean doesn't quite creep him out the same was Xavier himself does, so he might be okay with her. He'll just keep his distance and try to avoid her as much as possible.

And yeah, I can see John being peeved with Magma if only because she doesn't need a source for her powers to work, and that's a bit of a sore spot with him. I'm sure that somehow, though, they could learn from each other (John: "Don't superheat Dust. Just sayin'.").

Thanks for the welcome, and nice to meet you! :)

Hey, welcome to the game. I'm Courtney and I play Pixie.

I doubt she has any problem with Pyro. She doesn't really have any problems with anyone. She's care-free and happy-go-lucky. I'm not sure how Pyro will respond to her, but it'll be interesting to find out.

Awww, Meg! <3 She's adorable. I'm sure John will really, really try to dislike her just on principle, but she's so blasted cute I don't think it'll work. Especially if she pixie dusts him and ends up having a tea party with him and Josh's stuffed bear or something.
