"It's... nice to meet you." Laurie really was sincere, even if her shy tone made it sound like she wasn't. Her voice was steadying, though, and her emotions becoming more neutral as she listened to David speak. "The Rec Room... is crowded a lot," Laurie stated, remembering having considered it as a good spot to spend her days and quickly dismissing that thought when some of the louder boys had entered. "Oh, you were going to look at the maze?" Laurie had wondered about it, but knew she would get lost very quickly on her own, and didn't want to force anyone to go with her knowing how easily she was startled and how uncontrolled her powers were.
Laurie was about to comment more on the maze when David asked if she was alright. Mouth opening slightly, Laurie considered her answer momentarily before admitting, "Oh, I'm fine... I just... I'm not very good... with talking to people... sorry..." She didn't know why she was apologizing, but she felt it was appropriate as she looked down at her fingernails. She looked up, a shy smile on her face, as she added, "Not that you aren't... nice... I mean, you are very nice..."
