David wasn’t necessarily looking to be alone, but he definitely found the Rec Room too loud and crowded- it seemed like all of the students not outside worshipping the sun by the pool had gathered around the various games and sofas and were laughing and chatting away. He was still fairly new to the school and too shy to just walk up and butt into a conversation. His solution? Go exploring. There was a lot about this strange school that he didn’t know….or once knew, but had forgotten.
After looking out the window and checking the time, he grabbed a flashlight and left. That hedge maze looked pretty cool, and he remembered learning the path through it from the teacher giving him the initial, hurried tour of the grounds. Maybe once he was in the maze, he’d remember the path again.
He was so determined and focused on his goal that he nearly ran into a girl standing by the front of the school. “Woah, hey!” he said, surprised. “Sorry about that…wasn’t paying attention, I guess.”
