who: Sam Guthrie and Pietro Maximoff
when: Friday night
where: Hick-Gypsy Room
what: Sam's memory is a little hazy of the antics last week, but he does recall a few things. Such as the fact he was called a hick and doesn't stand a chance with Regan. He'd like A WORD, SIR.
Sam Guthrie didn't like to complain, at least aloud. He figured it wasn't proper so instead his most recent displeasure had been locked away in his mind all week. He had hoped he could just leave it that way and let it pass, but he couldn't. Sam Guthrie knew he needed to confront the issue: he didn't feel comfortable in his own room anymore. He wasn't sure what had changed. After all, the room looked the same as it had the week before and the week before that. Ever since his night of drunken debauchery with Regan though, Sam hadn't been feeling quite right. Part of him was probably being too pathetic and feeling guilty for getting that wasted. Another part was dwelling on an issue that was overloading him with jealousy.
He had sat through Regan and Pietro's romantic antics, been called a hick, and then put off from sleep until the other two finally went to bed themselves. A part of Sam wished that he had simply forgotten the evening, but Sam could remember a good portion of it and what he did wasn't sitting well with him. Sam liked Regan, or had until he saw what kind of person she was. She was with Pietro anyway, something he was still jealous of even though he was starting to get over her, and now felt horribly aware both of his loneliness and the fact he didn't stand a chance. He couldn't keep up in the drunken world Wyngarde lived in. Here he thought the wealth would be their biggest difference.
Sam had been going to bed early to work overtime, a convenient excuse to be silent whenever Pietro came home. He decided after coming home from work that enough was enough. Sam sat at his desk and forced himself to stay awake. He was going to talk to his roommate and learn to coincide with him again and maybe even confront him on all the "hick" talk. What was to lose? A friend? Sam wasn't sure Pietro considered him one.
