Avalanche, OTA
Dominic hadn't been in the school when he received the telepathic blast. It was the equivalent of a foghorn going off in his ear, leaving him with a wince and a loud curse in the open air. No, instead of spending any more time than necessary inside the school, Dominic had gone out for a smoke. It was safer than smoking in the garage - usually Wolverine or Summers could come across him if he were there messing with their vehicles. Still, he was slipping back inside the school through the empty garage when the call went out.
There were intruders in the school. He could have run away, continued with his pseudo-evacuation and gotten off the grounds entirely. Yet he was heading into the foyer and towards the sound of conflict from the interior. Dominic couldn't have said it was any real desire to be a hero or act out in any sort of way - but there were the sounds of a fight and the occasion younger student shrieking. It didn't take him long to find the cause.
"-the fuck?" Dominic froze in the hallway as a heavily armed squadron aimed their guns at him. It was very lucky for Dominic that Vanessa had never given more than a passing interest in either him or his powers because they didn't fire on sight.
When he heard the safety disengage on a soldier's gun, Dominic didn't wait around to find out that they were only tranquilizer darts or actual live ammunition. He flung out a hand at the ground in front of him. The floor rippled with the seismic vibrations generated from his body shoved outward. It started a little wave that exploded into a much larger one. Paintings rattled on their hangings before shattering to the floor below. It was like playing dominoes - a single flick and they all came tumbling down. The force of the final crescendo ripped the actual hardwood up from the floor and slammed the soldiers against the wall with enough force to knock most of them unconscious.
