His first instinct was to get up and round the table to show her, but considering the little problem he was presently experiencing, Severus thought better of it. Of course, now he thought about it, the situation was more than a little amusing, though a tinge of lingering embarrassment still remained. At fifteen proper, he would never have been able to see even a hint of humor. He would have been mortified, and he probably would have lashed out at Amelia, innocent bystander that she was, for having the sheer nerve to be attractive and turn him on. But now, he had to admit it was actually rather funny.
With a chuckle, he turned the book back around to face himself once more, quickly flipping to the page containing the entry for aconite. In the margin, he'd written: "See monkshood, p. 243 and wolfsbane, p. 561". Then he turned the book again so that the printing would be right side up for her once more and slid it back across the table. "There," he added, tapping his finger on the additions he'd made. "As I said, mostly just cross-references, though there is the occasional interesting tidbit about some of the plants I've added, as well. Or, you know, dreadfully mind-numbing tidbits, as the case may be."
