James, as he always had done, woke early on Christmas morning. He felt a thrill of excitement when he saw the lumpy pile at the bottom of his bed, but ignored if for the moment. He turned to where Sirius, curled up in the trickle bed, was making low snuffly noises. Rather doglike, James reflected, as he reached for his pillow and whacked his friend across the face with it. "Christmas!!!" he shouted.

Alecto tossed her journal to the side, feigning her frustration to go and do something adrenaline seeking and rushing into the boy's dorm. Quickly, she slipped out of her shoes so they didn't make noise as her socked-feet shuffled across the ground and moved to the dorm. Once she arrived, her hands rested on the door to listen for anyone in there. When she heard no voices, she ran inside and started looking for the bed that had Evan's things near it.

Once found, she dropped on her knees beside his trunk, using her own wand to remove the lock and started looking through his things. She tried to find his music box to no avail, she ended up grabbing a rather nice sweater of his and folding it tightly. She fought with some of his other clothes, not caring if they were wrinkled or not and shoving them back inside.
